Best pic of the Old Girl I could find. Whitewall tyres need to go, as do some of the badges as it looks too 'busy'. Not bad considering it was restored before I entered this World :D

Look at that Jensen next to it, what a car they were in the day.

Congratulations :)

Assuming thats fairly new news, you can still get a good few months of fun out of it. Don't do anything too rash with your car choice though - I knew someone who was expecting his first baby and he had a 5 door golf. Exactly the sort of car that, when I was a youngun, was perfectly acceptable for a small family. He went and bought an S-Max! Obivously being a 3 door, the clio could be a bit tricky, but you shouldnt have to doom yourself with a people carrier or anything just yet :)

Thanks, Yeah we have around 6 1/2 months to go so I'm in no rush. No people carriers coming my way, although we do have a dog too so I think an estate may be in order. I would love to be able to afford to keep it and run two cars but I don't think that's possible
:-(

We changed to the Clio because my girlfriend needed to use the car for work and really didn't like driving it. Although I have to admit the Saab was one of the oddest cars I've owned.

Sounds like a Saab to me :D

You either love it or hate it I guess. The creaking is common, even on the new 93, mine creaked a bit on cold damp mornings. So maybe a 93 estate might not be for you then :)

A few pics from my track session at Castle Combe on saturday. (a rare creak & squeak free saab) My first track session too, went well and i'm looking forward to doing it again next year. No track related maladies either, though i had a fair bit of smoke off the brakes when i parked up after the session.

You out in the Saab-only session? Watched it from Camp and was amazed at how silent all the Saabs were!
We were there all day and Dad the Westfield on track for a couple of sessions in the afternoon. Hitting Avon Rise at 140mph is rather scary in the passenger seat!

Yes it was my first time on a track, so i opted for a single session with the rest of the UKS bunch. My car would have been quiet as its still on the original exhaust. (noise tester didn't tell me how loud though) Some of them can be quite loud, but i prefer subtle and quiet. (on the road at least)

I only managed 115mph by avon rise, but i'm only stage 1, so i'm about 40hp down on most of the other cars that were out there. (plus i had a stack of tools and the spare tyre in addition to the weight of the passenger.

That is the most fun i've had with the car since getting it, i'll be doing the same again in April next year.

Better to be too quiet than to fail:). Lots of the Westfield boys struggle for 100dB, and none of the BEC guys manage it!

Though there's lots of noise about the accuracy of Combe's meter....
