Show Us Your Motors!

i find it funny im on a overclockers forum where people mod there pc's but yet modding a car is not aceptable?

Modding a car is perfectly acceptable. Most of us here own or have owned modified cars, and will modify future cars.

We just appreciate modding that doesnt involve slamming something on Porsche wheels until it no longer handles, not that it ever did in the first place..

People who are wannabe ponces, take your head out of your a**e and realise we're not all the same.

You carry on being boring and dull, whilst the rest of us enjoy our younger years and meet some likeminded people along the way :)

I assume thats fair to say, as you lot have to moan at us who modify our cars, yes?

I don't see people moaning, i see people not liking certain aspects to modded cars.

Yo are right, we are not all the same, this is not a place of mutual back slapping just to make people happy.
Appreciate your own words, we are not all the same, as long as you are happy at your car then that's all that matters.

Do you cruise around Festival park by any chance?

Nothing wrong with modding, but the last few examples are gash. The Bora is an abomination, the rear wheels are a right laugh.

Yeah I was going to ask about handling, just how well something so low cope with

A: Road humps
B: Corners

Or is the whole point that you drive around at 20MPH so everybody can get an eyeful (sore?).

!

The point is it's on airbags, so it doesn't drive around that low and nor will the wheels always sit that far forward.

Which arguably makes it even more pointless - The suspension's single purpose is to look 'good' at shows and in pictures. As far as I'm personally concerned mods that don't generally improve the car apart in very select situations (I.E when parked up :p) are a bit crap.

That's not to say that I'm a boring old snob. I'm all for modified cars in the right circumstances but the 'VAG scene' has shown time and time again to have a bucket full of 'form' over function on otherwise pretty bland cars. That in itself isn't really that bad, but everytime I hear/read about someone in the 'scene' commenting about other types of modified cars I get the distinct impression that they look down at the rest of us. I remember one forum discussion (think it was Edition 38) where several forum members referred to modified Ford owners as "Knuckle Daggers" because they actually use their modified cars properly, I.E on the track or the rally stage, not parked up in a field somewhere in wales surrounded by hundreds of other VAG cars. That sort of thing sticks in my mind.

Well ultimately that's all down to personal preference isn't it, some people prefer style over function and I can certainly appreciate why, the roads in this country aren't always conducive to turning your car into some sort of semi track monster.

I personally wouldn't go that far with a car, but I can see why someone might.

I can't however see why someone would spend a fortune completely retrimming a Polo though :p

So short sighted.

Air bags should be loved by every body, even when you're not a fan of low/slammed it still twarts clampers :)
