They are indeed, so is using a different font, or messing with the font spacing ...or anything that is different to a standard plate basically.

Unless your car < 1974 in which case you can use pressed black/aluminum plates or stick on plates (used on lot's of e-types) etc.... Although if your car looks old you might get away with it (i.e. the mini which I think is running the plates even if it's too new on the [2] page before and some morgan (and TVR) owners do too and so on...)

I just bought the car with them on, they will get changed for standard ones eventually don't worry :) The car is standard apart from a magnex cat back exhaust which isn't overbearing (and I like a bit of noise anyway) and those plates, aint changed anything myself, just started with a bit of maintenance.

It is a very clean car indeed Phil, with just a few stone chips at the front which I will also sort next year as well as a wheel refurb, as it's the mintest car I've had so far.

Can't remember if I posted my car here before so here it is..

Plans are to clean it up, bodywork is pretty much fine apart from the bootlid. Interior needs a good scrub as you can see. Some bulbs need doing and odd bits around.

Back looks like it has never been sat in!

Front looks like it's been sat in by a farmer though!

It's a 1996 520i SE auto. It's done 203,000 miles and has a wonky power steering pump. Other than that the mechanicals are perfect.

I bought it off a guy i work with, my previous car died last week and he said he had this sitting doing nothing, so i offered him 400 quid and he took it :)

My overall plan is to fix it up, sell it on and buy a nicer E39 in the new year, as i think i may be hooked already.

The power steering is just starting to go really, bit noisy and stiff when parking but thats it so far.

Insurance is cheapish for me too. £500 fully comp and I'm 23.

Laughed at me for looking at BMWs now you have one :p

Maybe this could be the ideal car for a road trip car to go pick up an E46 for me ;)
