Show Us Your Motors!

Ash you can stick it on average also :) They easily do 33-35ish mpg around town if you're steady, I got 48.5 mpg average on a run in my 1.8t!

Is that the 02 reg one you were looking at? :)

Know about the average, think I'm about 24mpg. I think my main culprate at the moment is heavy/quick accelerating that's really dropping the average. Up at cruising I get around the 33-35. But I've always been quick off the line, almost naturally as I don't mean to do it.

Yeah that's the 02 plate one. Full service history, cam belt done at 72000, currently at 82500. New fuel line done at some point too. My mechanic says it's solid.

Most cars should be getting infinite. They shouldn't be burning any fuel down hill with closed throttle (assuming engine speeds are above 2k rpm )

Yeah learned that shortly after making the post. Other owners have gotten it to display --- (so mpg unreadible) when doing similar driving.

Was browsing through the thread when I realised I'd never posted in it

Same here!

Well kinda :p but I knew them all from when I had my VXR, just seems I was the only one to actually progress with cars not go backwards.

Not strictly my motor, but a part that is going to be fitted soon that I thought may be of interest to some :)

I've been having some oddities with the handling of the car lately, steering from the rear on right hand bends that I've narrowed down to a toe link rose joint with some play but the main culprit is the rear upper wishbone bushes are worn (high bhp Elises/Exiges eat them).

So I bought a set of Nitron wishbone inner bearings that replace the traditional rubber bushes with rose joints. For the use and mileage the car gets now it's not a problem fitting these in regards to longevity, nvh, etc.

And I've also sent away my dampers for a rebuild/revalve with different rate springs as they were useless on anything but a billiard table!
Car currently sits like this at the moment :D
