Show Us Your Motors!

Just out of interest. I know the standard M-Sport's are not very forgiving over the bumps with their suspension & run-flats.
Whats's your like?

It is very forgiving over the bumps, when i test drove it i was amazed how good it was over the bumps etc, like i've said before it's better on the road than the standard mondeo i just traded in for it. It's amazed my mates as well, when i've pulled up in it, they have said "oh i bet that's awful over the bumps" and i take them out in it and it surprises them :D

And they told you the previous owner was 'BMW'?

BMW Management cars go into the dealer network as Approved Used at 3-6 months old and demonstrators tend to be much higher spec and sold on at under a year old.

I cannot think of a reason why BMW would keep it for 4 years. I think i its either had more than one owner or the previous owner isn't BMW.

What would BMW even do with a 325i for 4 years?

I know what your saying, and i was dubious when he told me. My dad is in the motor trade and said the same thing as you, and that is the case in pretty much all main dealerships but the HPI check / log book said 0 previous owners and the first owner was BMW? A dealership in Wilmslow i think?

Unless it has not been swapped over at some point?

I dont think HPI shows the address of the previous owner. Infact I'm 99.9% certain it doesn't.

You'll find out when the V5 arrives I guess.

Yeah no doubt, i'm not trying to pull any one's leg so to speak, i'm just going on what the guy said, and the HPI doesn't show the previous owners details but it definitely said 0 previous owners.

Could have been a BMW employees car. Not in sales but at head office or something. Sales don't tend to keep them that long.

As for the ride, Im surprised its good on the bumps. You need that on the UK roads!

Unlikely at 4 years old. These tend to be a 3-9 months old because they use them as prime AUC stock. They are easily spotted as most have Y prefix registration plates (YD, YG etc, BMW's distribution centre is in Thorne).

Tonight on Schröder Holmes Investigates, one man from Stoke-on-Trent claims to have recently purchased an '08' E92 325i from Bluebell BMW in Wilmslow. The car seems to boast '0' previous owners on the V5. Befuddle with the age of the vehicle and its lack of NAV (Professional [that brings with it a more pleasing and completed look to the dash and cabin as a whole]) Schröder must establish any other negated facts from the owner.

Is the owner correct in his orignal accertation that it was owned by BMW from the outset? Or has he been a pawn in the game of DVLA incompetency? Or was he... a victim of a slick BMW saleman? Find out tonight on Schröder. Holmes. Investigates!

Lol, but harsh. You acting like i'm intentionally trying to pull the wool over your eyes. I'm just going on what the guy told me and if he has sold me a line and it ends up to be a load of bull when i get the V5, i will come clean and own up i've been had by the salesman.

The guy at autovogue showed me the vehicle and said we've only had this a few days and that he had bought it directly from BMW who was the previous owner, and he showed me the HPI which showed 0 previous keepers (pic below). If he has mislead me to believe that the previous owner was BMW themselves and it turns out it was not, then i will apologise and you can rib me for being had by a salesman, i'm sure we've all been there is that is the case.

Agree,

Not sure why people are taking the P**s? Maybe you know each other and its banter! IMO, its bad taste. I wouldn't worry about the history too much as its been checked by experian, There probably is a good and valid reason for the "0" owners.
Personally, I think people to keep their opinions to themselves weather they like a dash with satnav or not! Thats just ridiculous!

This is OcUK, we say what we think. It's what makes this forum work.

How much the BMW set you back? I'm REALLY liking the 3 series coupes lately but they are not coming into my cash bracket yet.

To be fair I was gonna say the same as Fox on this. 4 years & 47k for a management car sounds very unlikely (that's coming from someone who works in the area of ex-management and ex-fleet cars for a major manufacturer), but I guess it could be true.

Nobody is taking the **** about the owner thing (Muffin isn't being harsh, he is mocking me)- we are just pointing out what you were told may not have been the case, thats all. It does happen - the dealer I bought my last car from insisted it was one private owner from new. The V5 turned up and it was an ex fleet car.

You'll find out for sure when your V5 arrives but the message here is be careful what you bekleive when buying cars :)

I'd imagine it was traded in at BMW by the previous owner and for some reason BMW decided they didn't want to sell it themselves. Not sure why.

It is a 1 owner car though, so the 0 owners thing is good to see :) 0 previous owners the last keeper had the car from new.
