Yeah they're alright, definately not bad for the money, my bandmate/housemate has a set of Events which are much better and seem much flatter than these Alesis ones, they're pretty good for general listening/games etc but I find them a little bass heavy generally. They'll suit me for the time being though

What kind of music do you do?

Drum&Bass

You can port the speakers which will dampen the heavy bass, or you can reposition then, i dont really unstand sound wave pysics, but in my room i have found the bass increases 10x the further away i get, if you sit up right close to your moniter (screen) i would not expect the bass to be that bad though?
I am a bass freak though, im getting 2x subwoofers for my next purchase...
