Shower or bath?

Okay, but then what's the purpose of taking about your own "Muck"?

It's not really lying in your own much at all if the content is so low.

You could say the water is tainted by the copper pipes before they come out of the shower head and therefore, the water you're using to clean yourself is dirty copper pipe water.

It's also not a figure of speech either. A figure of speech is something that goes away from its literally meaning.

"I saw a spider, and I hit the roof in fear"

"I saw a spider and I ran a mile in fear"

Figure of speech.

"When you get a bath, you're lying in your own dirt" is an exaggeration.

For you to lay in your own dirt, the water would have to be exceptionally tainted with crap, otherwise you're simply not lying in your own dirt.

I would say that you are the one having difficulty comprehending what I'm saying.

No , it is a simple figure of speach that you have taken the wrong way and went of on some semantic crusade and are now trying to argue even more semantics to stop yourself looking silly

Except that others are also saying you're wrong. You aren't even considering what I'm saying at all, I've proven you to be wrong, I'm not doing it to be right, I just happen to know you're wrong, despite that, you're adamant to ignore what I've said that proves you wrong, and to continue going "No, it's okay, I'm correct".

Go look up figure of speech, learn what it means, and try not to make this mistake again.

This is no sort of crusade, but when I see some one spouting BS, I'll say something about it.

This isn't directed at you only, you just happened to be the first to say it.

Showers are good for when you haven't got much time and want to get clean quick, and a bath is good for a relaxing soak.

I shower more than I take a bath.

I shower everyday how often do the smelly OCUK users?

Look, you get in the bath, you wash the muck off, you're now in the bath with the muck, how hard is that for you to understand?

No one has stated anywhere that they think the bath has suddenly become a sticking cesspit full of crap, just that they don't want lie in a bath containing they're own muck floating around, it aint rocket science

It is a figure of speech because the meaning isn't that your'e literally lying in muck although it could be classed as an exaggeration too, but in this case I'm sure people are using it as the former, but to start arguing semantics over that in a thread like this is becoming pathetic

I prefer showers but tbfh I also don't get this 'sitting in your own filth' thing, I really believe it's one of these buzz-phrases like smash her pasty that someone said once and has just caught on. Whenever I have a bath the water never looks mucky afterwards, I think sleeping in (even regularly washed) bedsheets is just as bad if not worse.

Same here! My bath water doesn't have floating faeces or scum on top of the bubble bath. I think the people who are implying it is like sitting in your own filth need to wash more often to start with. :p

Cool story bro.

You're still wrong though, more people are saying it too.

Shower to get clean, then ill run the bath and sit back and relax with a beer, i used to deliver coal and a bath was no use, had to stand under the shower for half an hour to get rid of the black coal dust.

Shower.

I like baths but once I'm in i never want to get out again as its too cold. I just keep topping the bath up with hot water to keep it at a comfortable level until my hands resemble giant raisins.

And they are entitled to their opinion, at least they have the intelligence to understand that no one has literally meant the bath water has somehow turned into muck or tried to argue pathetic semantics.

Anyways I'm not going to engage with you and ruin this thread even more, I have better things to do such as having a shower and getting cleaned properly ;)

Shower in the week and sometimes a bath at the weekend.

Nothing beats Radox, steaming hot bath and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon to wind down the week before. :)

Showers all the way. The cleaning process already do my nut in so I'll be damned if I prolong it with stewing in a bath. Quick 10 minute shower twice a day and I'm sorted.

When I was younger we only had a bath, and I hated it.

Now I have a shower, and it's all I can ever use.. I'm quite tall, and don't really fit in any baths lol.. so a shower is perfect for me!
