With obesity levels at record highs maybe it's a good thing that Mars bars are smaller than they used to be?
Sugar would remains the same, if not higher. Only thing that would be reduced is the cocoa and dairy content.
I find that very unlikely, the taste would change dramatically.
Anyone know how big Wagon Wheels are nowadays ? I used to love them as a kid because they were the size of my face, nom nom nom.

Were kids all fat in 60-80's when the choc bars were bigger?![]()
Nope, cocoa is expensive and that is a way to cut costs.
so 20 years ago we should have been fatter?
"Cadbury Dairy Milk was reformulated in 2006 and again in 2009, with the addition of palm oil as a replacement for some cocoa butter. In August 2009, Cadbury announced it would return to using cocoa butter instead of palm oil as the formula due to a poor response from consumers."
What has reductions got to with an entirely different thing?
Same as coca cola - 2ltr down to 1.75ltr.
Bring me the Pepsi you fools!
You claimed that the difference in product weight was down to a decrease in cocoa and dairy, specifically, whilst sugar and other ingredients remained the same or even increased in value. Did you have any source for this or was it just an uneducated guess? The quote I posted explains that cocoa butter was substituted for palm oil, not more sugar, and was subsequently changed back after complaints about taste. Fairly easy to comprehend I mistakenly thought.
nope I wasn't (early 90's)
the portions were larger they actually made you feel sick if you ate a whole one, then the choc makers got greedy
its what they put in them, more sugar these days.
No, you're not getting what I'm saying at all. The chocolate being less in size comparatively means they are using less ingredients in making it. It's a pretty simple concept.
