Shutdown Day - Really interesting experiment

I can assure you all that its 16KB:

I only really use this computer in parts of the evening. I increasingly find myself spending days off or other free time doing different activities. Use the computer at work occasionally but they are as slow as a stuffed tortoise.

Out of curiousity for the people who see it as >20k, what browser are you using? I'm using IE7 here and was wondering if that was the issue. :)

24.04 kB (24613 bytes) here for me on Firefox 2.0.

In IE7 it's under 20kb though.

WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?

That was what I suspected was happening, I believe IE to be right, it is a Microsoft product and therefore must be right. Microsoft would never lie to consumers, after all they invented the internet and Windows for our benefit. ;)

Showing as more than 20k for me too.

Size on your own computer means nothing.

Brilliant, except thats the IIS server, not my PC ;)

IE5, 6 and 7 reports it as 16KB, the server reports it as 16KB, saving in photoshop "for the web" reports as 16KB, and my linux box reports the file size as 16KB.

I'd say firefox is lying tbqfh.

And my colleagues firefox 1.5.0.9 reports it as 16KB.

Firefox 2.0 is blatently crap :)

EDIT: Mac OS X 10.3.9 reports it as 16KB too.

What exactly are you defining as a "computer"?

Sure I could live without using the PC for a day, but I'd want to use the time to do other things instead, like go out and take photos........

My camera effectively has a computer inside it, as does my mobile, etc etc.
(Oh and think of all the people getting lost without GPS navigators :p)

Oh and i don't really want to have to shut down my servers.......especially not my work servers.

I'm fishing that day!

Like many others have said I can go 24 hours without a computer and from time to time I do but I'm not wouldn't participate in a stupid "day" if I needed my PC, more important things to be doing.
