Shuttle SP35P2 Pro is go!

I'll check tomorrow & let you know. I have a feeling they're dual-slot...

I can confirm they are dual slot as I have one already. It takes my 8800GTS 640 albeit it is fairly tight. It will take an 8800GTX but be prepared for it to be extremely tight, its about an inch shorter then the shuttles insides.

One word of warning to those interested in buying one. There is a problem with these shuttles where they will restart every 5 seconds when you press the power button, which mine has and is now back at the retailer on RMA because of it. Shuttle confirmed its a problem withgthe motherboard, so I take it that the new batches coming into the country are working items with this issue fixed.

If only OcUK got them a month ago I would have got one here, but i got it elsewhere at an extremely crp website with no aspoect of customer service.

Any questions and ill try to answer them as best as possible.

Im assuming this Shuttle would have enough space and power to accomodate an 8800 GT/GTS, what about a GTX? I know the Shuttle PSUs are particular good but wouldnt want to push it. Thats if it fits of course.

I know a guy running:

q6600
8800GTX
4GB RAM
3 x 500GB Drives
DVD RW

Andit works no bother, i believe hehas the chip clocked to 3.2GHz too.

Can you have a double slot GTX and a PCI card in at the same time though? Il need my wireless network card in there.

No, you will lose the PCI slot, but you can bu the PN18 or PN20 which clip onto the back of the shuttle and plug directly into the motherboard.

Sorry about all the posts, im on an old rickety university loan laptop and its constantly freezing so i cant edit posts as it takes too long.

A few pics for you guys. These are not mine (came from the same guy as JediFraggers pic), but due to competitors being mentioned in the thread they came from, i cannot directly link.

8800GTX

RAM clearance from PSU

All built

They dont appear to be loud consoles, while mine was working it was relatively quiet, but i never got a chance to put it under load.

Thanks for your help Stellios.

Hopefully will take the plunge with an 8800 GT then, backed up with a Q6600 and 4Gb RAM. 4 x 1Gb or 2 x 2Gb is my next dilemma.

Im putting 4x1GB sticks in as they seem cheaper, but from what im reading shuttles dont like OCZ, and what did i buy....OCZ, so im sitting fingers crossed that it works fine.

The OCZ that OcUK have on their site HERE is listed in the tested and compatible list on shuttles website, so im hoping itll be alright.

I've been thinking of getting this shuttle also, an upgrade from my SN26P.

The old 939 is getting a bit long in the tooth, even with the once great FX57 at the helm.

I've also noticed the 5 second reboot issue mainly by following a thread on another SFF based forum that i'm probably not allowed to mention ;)

Last time i checked there was no definate indication of the issue being resolved and I won't be buying until I know for sure. However, I believe one of the admins had spoken to a chap at shuttle who had admitted the issue was a BIOS problem and that a fix was on the way, but with no update as of yet.

I've noticed that there has been a lull in stock for this particular shuttle over the last month or so, I'm hoping its because they are phasing the old revisions out.

Would be nice to know for sure though.

Yeah, originally it was a fualt with the BIOS on the shuttle, and a revised BIOS has been out for a few weeks now, but recently ive heard that its a fault in the hardware getting damaged during carriage. The BIOS sounds more likely to me, but I dont know.

Ill find out when i get mine back i suppose.

As has been confirmed by other posts I am running a Q6600, 8800GTX, 4GB ram and two 400Gb hdd in a 37P2 - the gfx is very tight indeed and I am getting interference/ occcasional complete loss of picture (think this is a gfx only issue) and so going to get a new GT and see how it goes - I run a 24" dell at highest res so a little apprehensive about framerates etc but hopefully should be ok (can always use the GT in another pc I have anyway)

This was the 4th shuttle Ive had and pretty impressed by it (even with no oc'ing) - occasionally its quirky (like fans start up but bios doesnt kick in, always on the next attempt it works fine)

(the GTX is an incredibly tight fit but it does go with a little wiggling)

Why has the shuttle only 2 expansion slots on the back? cos you can fit 3 cards in it,, I was gonna get this shuttle and have a 8800gt, X-FI and a pcie tv card. But theres only 2 expanstion slots on the back of the case???????

THere isnt space for a third slot at all, after the 2 PCI slots your literally on the PSU.

So how do you use the mini pcie slot? you use either the pci or the mini pcie slot then?

Would these shuttles cope well left on 24/7 cos Im guessing there not very loud and you could leave the leds disconnected? Like ive never had a shuttle before, and I like the idea of having a little dinky pc.
