One thing I've noticed with the Canon 24L at F1.4 is the amount of vignetting is very substantial - 4 stops according to reviews. Sure this can be fixed when importing RAW's via a lens profile but when quickly checking images on the LCD camera screen, going from F1.4 to F2.8 is like you've set a slower overall exposure (more than just aperture) as the image and colours are so much lighter.
It'll be interesting to see how the Sigma 24 F1.4 handles vignetting.
