Recently ordered a jacket , after 10 days it's not turned up.
contacted company and got this response

"Hi

I’ve checked our couriers website and they’ve logged the goods as delivered on 22.06.2011 at 15.53pm

The goods were signed for in the name (my name)

Thanks for your order"

ive not signed for it, the girlfirend who is at home on maternity has not signed for it, where do i stand and is there anything i can do ?

Ask for a printed proof of delivery would be the first port of call.

Try and be polite and deal with the company from which you bought the goods, not the courier.

Possibly delivered to the wrong address and the recipient was dishonest?

Whenever I have something being delivered I do wonder if the courier has gone to the right address as it gets later in the day :D

the delivery drive could have faked the signature, left the box somewhere and mr joe blogs picked it up!

Most likely wrong address and the person signed for it. happens all the time where I live.

Once had a mobile phone not delivered and they were certain it had been delivered and I should speak with "Ivan" who I apparantly live with as he signed for the phone

When I worked in a warehouse, we had a parcel that didn't arrive at its destination, despite the courier insisting it had been delivered. When we looked on the online tracking it said "Signed by: Out with driver".

God knows where it ended up...

None of the potential scenarios are your problem - if you don't have the item, tell the retailer and it will be up to them to discuss it with the courier.

Pretty much this, really.

Moan at the courier and they'll just fob you off, before getting on with whatever they were doing. Get the retailer on their back and things may happen. The retailer is where the money (delivery contract) is, you are just an annoyance and can be ignored. :(

looks like the delivery man has pulled a fast one

Reminds me of the fake iPhone 4 my dad ordered and it got delivered to the house all the way down the road, completely different number even though the package was addressed in print and clearly.

ok small update, got this today
"Good afternoon,

Thanks for your email,

The signature that the driver obtained is as follows;

(insert scribble here)

I appreciate that this is not the clearest – so I have asked the couriers to do a driver interview to establish a description of the person who signed for it."

ill reply tomorrow and send them a scan of my passport im thinking.

Wait a sec......

... girlfriend home on maternity leave? Marry that woman!

"Thank you for your e-mail.

We are able to see your signatures for your driving license and passport.

The couriers have interview the driver that delivered your order and they have confirmed that your order was delivered to number 14 Richard Close. Please contact you neighbour to retrieve your order.

Kind regards.

number 14 doesnt have the order & wasn't there a signature of mr (me) at the correct address signing for the order !?..

You must have been drunk or half a sleep when you signed for it? So the driver said it got delivered at 14 Richard Close. But still there was a signature. Are you sure the 14 Richard Close does not have it?

It's between the shop and the courier, but remember the shop may have had this "fast one" pulled on them a few times before, so be patient.
