number 14 doesnt have the order & wasn't there a signature of mr (me) at the correct address signing for the order !?..

I may have read it wrong. However, doesn't this mean your neighbor has signed for it in your name and bumped it?

It means someone has. Neighbour, driver, driver's mate, unwittingly signed by the receptionist at a company where this package was incorrectly delivered, hasn't been delivered at all but some twerp has recorded on the system it has been etc.

Bottom line is: he hasn't got his jacket, so it is now up to the shop to find out where it is. :)

The shop is probably just sending on what they heard from the courier. If OP had actually received the jacket and was now trying to scam another/a refund, this would usually be where it stops. But now, when the OP replies "I assure you I do not have the jacket, and whomever has signed for that delivery did so fraudulently" the shop should then investigate further.

4 days later and still not resolved? I'd be properly miffed by this point, and telling them that they've failed to deliver the item and to give me a refund on item + postage, they can sort it out with the courier...

I am in a bad mood right now though :p

You pay by credit card? Contact them and tell them what has happened so far. You'll get your money back after a form and a month.

delivery company name wouldn't start with a P and end in net would it ?

They were the bain of my life when i worked in the courier management team for a mail order company. The delivery drivers are paid by the parcel. The more they deliver, the more they get paid. If they turn up and you're not there. They don't get paid.

They will usually try and find somewhere safe to store it (for example your shed) so they can claim it was delivered and get paid. However often they can't find anywhere secure so they A) just dump it on the doorstep or B) forge your signature and will attempt to re-deliver it later.

The company knows what goes on, but because they are so cheap nobody cares and they keep their contracts.

You should tell the retailer that your girlfriend was at home that day waiting for the parcel to be delivered so why did your parcel get delivered to another address. If a parcel was delivered to another address then why did the delivery driver not post a note through your letterbox stating that the parcel has been left at 14 Richard Close.

Also ask the delivery company if the delivery driver is wearing a new jacket to work :D

Sounds like less than great customer service. Don't waste any electrons on emails - call your card company and do a charge back.

Liability 'usually' falls with the person who signed for it. It's 'apparently' not the person who is delivering it's fault, nor company.

They look after their own....
