Silent Hill 2 PC

Bargain price for a brilliant game

How is that a bargain? I got it cheaper than that like almost a year ago

Much cheaper and on steam, not windows crap :D

IMO the game is so good that even £35 is a bargain for it. :D

You would fit in well over at HotUKDeals. Posts a deal over RRP, gets voted down to hell. People ask you why are posting this, you say it is so good it is a bargain even at a high price :p

I enjoyed the game so much I completed it twice. That's a true sign a game is good, if me of all people replay it lol.

I enjoyed it. But not that much. It is no Resident Evil in my book. Now those (the og ones) I have completed like a dozen times over the years. Just something about them. Resident Evil 4 and onwards, not so much.

I will replay SH2 some day. But probably in like 4-5 years or something. Too manybgames to play/replay.

That's right mate, Silent Hill isn't Resident Evil, different franchise.

Feel bad for the people that had to play this on ps5 pro it was a free game on ps+ so I fired it up out of curiosity and my god its shockingly bad looking.

I also tried alan wake 2 for the same purpose and it looks great on ps5 pro.

Played Silent Hill 2 Remake over Christmas + New Years, and finished it up few days ago, would have beaten it sooner but a friend bought me a copy of Dead Island 2 to play so was bit busy playing that at same time

Gotta say I ended up loving the game, when I went into it I found it kinda OK but I had just finished RE4 Remake and was sorta like man I wish I was still playing that however once I got too the apartment block game started getting more interesting and hooked me from there, I have to give props too the sound design/music too, its on par with E33 in terms of how much I enjoyed that aspect (just obviously 2 very different reasons though)

I did have some technical issues with the game

HDR: As usual another game where RenoDX came in clutch to fix up the HDR
FoV: Why did I need to hunt down a mod to get FoV adjustment??
30FPS cutscenes: Just why? thankfully again a mod fixed that

And I also had some performance issues but I put that down too running RT + Ray Reconstruction and some ini tweaks, and while my 5070Ti is fine at 4K its not exactly the best when it comes too UE5 and RT, I think worst part overall was it caused some pretty bad VRR flicker at times

Funny enough MFG override wasn't working when I played it but latest drivers/Nvidia app now has it working so might give it a whirl next time I play it

Overall game went from so-so too one of my faves, maybe even top 5 but that could be recency bias talking, certainly makes me want to give Silent Hill F a try next
