Silent Hill 2 PC

And last if it continues like this :D

Yeah, this game is a bit different. I love a good RE game. Silent Hill games can be a bit different. I never got the same enjoyment out of them as I did RE games.

It’s flowing better now. The amount of locked doors is a bit annoying, I feel like I’m being guided down very linear path but it’s not like you have a ton of freedom in RE either I guess.
I’m about to go and investigate what’s making a noise in an upstairs apartment and to be honest I’m not sure I really want to based on what I can see lol.

Got to Bluecreek apartments. Had to google a puzzle because I was wandering around aimlessly for ages in the other ones, turns out I'd missed an apartment. No idea what is going on story wise yet. If it wasn't for the achiev popping up saying so, I'd have assumed I was still where ever I was before, not the 'Otherworld'. Saving as much ammo as I can so I don't soft lock myself like I ended up doing in RE2.

Performance is terrible, feel like I'm playing on console with all the stuttering, but enjoying it regardless, racked up 8.4h which is rare for me to do in one day,

I played melee almost the whole game to complete it with tons of ammo

It seems fairly generous with handgun ammo. Enemy toughness seems to have ramped up in the new place though.

I couldn't be asked halfway through and lowered enemy difficulty as I recall. Silly as I ended up with tons of health items by the end.

I’d like to thank the beta testers here but judging by performance, they didn’t do a very good job of it lol.

Played fine for me on my RTX 4090, man :p

I am going to reinstall this and replay since DLSS 4.5 RR is said to be really good in this now so wanna check that out.

No it didn’t. You even said one of the patches sorted out the stuttering “for the most part”. It’s still extremely noticeable because it exists in the first place.

A few travsersal hitches here and there after the last round of patching yes, not a huge deal and certainly nothing that could be called "terrible" - Considering the frequent stutters the game had before patching.

Oh and I’ve just seen you installed numerous mods including a cpu one and various others that contained multiple fixes etc to help mitigate the issues lol.
So it’s “runs fine” after extensive tweaking and fannying aboooot.

That was before the patches though, the only "mod" installed late stage was forcing on ray reconstruction

Guess I need to upgrade. I mean it could be a setting or something, but cba to try diagnose it.

Just started a new game and ran down to teh first well to save game, this area was typical for loads of stuttering before the patches, now? No stuttering:

Locked at 60fps because playing with a controller, DLSS Performance 4K and RR forced on. Forgot how nice this game looks generally.

Ooh I’m using controller but no fps lock. Whats the significance there? Think I got it on balanced or quality too (Preset L).

I actually noticed flicker for the first time, it was an isolated incident and it was so bad I thought a strobe light was on for a minute. Using renodx
