Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

WOW check out this page. It takes ages to load up but there's some superb coffee machine product design eye candy stuff. The rest of the page is stuffed with mad mad stuff that's going to take me weeks to get through :D

Hmm one of those looks familiar!

Flibster - awesome, if I'd known about it I'd have been tempted to pop along with the Elektra in tow.. manual 'represent' and all :D

Espresso porn!

We did get to see the Uber in action. :D
I want one - but at around $4k - it's on the expensive side for a combination kettle and set of scales. ;)

Sadly, didn't see the Clover in action *was tempted to try and get it into the boot though ;)*

Fantastic day though.

Got freebies too. :D Cupping spoon, bag of coffee and a new bright red hasbean cup and saucer - which are really nice - but he may not be selling them. :D

All in all - an utterly worthwhile day on every level.

Steve posted pics of those cups on twitter last week - I want some!

Great Espresso shots every time. Ditto for Macchiato, Cappuccino, Latte... :)

I am loving the simplicity of this bean to cup machine. It switches itself on in the mornings via a timer and heats up ready for a perfect Coffee (or 3 :o )

The milk is fantastic. I'll have to take some pics :D

just ordered a work grinder - been looking for one for about a year now, no longer have to grind every morning at home...

Its the Hario 'Skerton' hand grinder. It uses ceramic, conical burrs and be easily adjusted to produce a range of grind sizes.

:)

agreed - found a lovely cafe while on holiday in Edinburgh last year that was brewing it - unfortunately they aren't selling it any more so I've got a bag of Progreso Espresso on order

Ah :(

That blend is the best Coffee I have had. It made for a really nice Cappuccino- strongest Coffee flavour I have had.

I am drinking the Yellow Bourbon Fazenda Cachoeira from Hasbean at the moment. It is good but nothing compares to that Square Mile winter blend so far.

Starbucks Barista isn't a bad basic grinder. It's a rebadged Solis 166 iirc.
Iberital MC2 has gone up by £6 sadly and is now £105.99 which used to be my choice.

the starbuck barista is the same as the dualit - they are both rebadged Solis 166s :)

guess which is which ;)

Anyone from London I can wholly recommend two places for Coffee - one being Flat White - 17 Berwick Street and the other (Flat Whites sister cafe) Milk Bar Flat 1, 3-5 Bateman Street.

IMO the two best places for a decent coffee and Milk Bar does some pretty good food too. Their coffee beans are worth the purchase also.

Excellent thread here lads and lasses - good to see people care about a good brew.

Monmouth Coffee on Monmouth Street is the one for me for filter coffee.
For espresso - Kaffeine, Gt. Titchfield Street wins.

I'm trying to get to Gwilym's coffee cart. Hopefully while he is still the 2009 Champion.
