Silverstone ft02

Looks gorgeous, the depth is a bit big for the amount of space i have though. The dust filters look like they can actually be easily removed and cleaned :D unlike the top 180mm on the ft01, god that's a bugger to get out.

I bet if you brought a extension cable for the 6 pin power cable you could run it behind the motherboard easily.

I think they were just lazy, looks long enough to do it anyhow. Ive said before I love this case, if the temps are as good as they should be ill be getting one when its out for an i7 build.

I'm really in two minds as to wait for this or just get the RV02 now for about £120. The FT02 can only be costing more then that.

Also unless they have modified the HDD trays I think they point the wrong way for 90' connectors?

@Colossus... im having the same dilemma, i originally had discounted the rv02 because it didn't have the hot swap drives that the ft02 had. But by looking at the pictures, if you filled up the hard drive cage of the ft02 they would completely block the fan underneath it, where as on the rv02, it only takes 3 but allowing space in between the drives for the air from the fan to get through. I would use a laptop drive (in the ssd slot at the back (ssd still too expensive) then the option of 3 over drives would be ample, and you can always get 5.25 to 3.5 adapter if you really need extra hard drive space

I want this case, too! Although, like a couple of others above, I'm also thinking about going with the RV02 instead. (I'm going to need a case soon, as I'm planning on buying the core components next Tuesday. ;))

If anyone hears anything definitive about a release date, please post here. ;)

Since the drives are mounted vertically, there should be enough space for air to pass between them. My concern is about the optical bays above - these WILL completely block the clever vertical convective airflow.

I too am waiting impatiently for this case, though I am glad they pre-announced it as otherwise I would have been tempted by the RV02, which though a big improvement on the butt-ugly RV01 is still no oil painting compared to this.

I am planning to get a laptop optical drive and mod the case so it mounts vertically with the tray popping up the top like toast from a toaster. This way I can avoid obstructing the airflow and also obviate the need for access to the "front" of the case saving depth. I may also try re-orienting the hot-swap cage so the drives lift out the top of the case also as this would give easier access to my backup units which I swap every day.

F2 just looks so clean/elgant design and 3x 180mm silent fans too cool the whole rigg.... should be good for silence and performance and just the right size too.

Obsidians lovely but just way too bit/pricey.... am thinking the F2 will be better but will see.

According to a Silverstone employee it's now going to be November before the FT02 becomes available :(

Sorry, I don't have release date yet so this is not good news. We are very likely looking at November availability now.

RV02 it is then.

November? Damn. Was really hoping to pick this up mid October as a birthday treat to myself. Looks like I'll be waiting until Christmas then. I just don't like the look of the RV02, though am tempted to have another look at the FT01.

They must fit. Surely Silverstone considered GPU card clearance, knowing full well cards are bound to get longer in the short-term. To create an enthusiast case that can't hold enthusiast hardware doesn't make any sense.

think hes right look at the space between the card and the 180mm fan...

this doesnt bode well for the unreleased FT2 maybe the delay is redesigning the case so it can fit the 5870, perhaps the case we see in the pics are just very early prototypes they should have considering ssds/super long graphic cards if they remotely know anything about cases and computers.
