I am highly considering watching every episode of simpsons from the start, like an episode a day or something, its simpsons so the worst that can happen is I am entertained![]()
The quote i liked best was in the flying hellfish episode, burns hires a hitman to kill gradnpa and he tries 3 or so times with no luck. Then we see him planning things out nice and slow quote was something like
"there is one more way to kill a man, but it requires the skill and patience of a well played game of chess".
The he proceeds to boot open the door and riddle the place with smg fire.![]()
I know to many people that actually remember him specifically saying it, along with him saying something like (But not these words exactly)
"what! where am I, who are you who stole my medicine" Literally everyone who watches the simpsons knows the quote, they can even remember parts of the scene and stuff, but they just can't remember the episode he said it because there are a lot of things he says that are similar..

thats the one quote you are thinking, nothing listed around that quote with medicine. you'd have to watch that ep to check if its in that one.
the link is wrong, the quote i did was from Million dollar abie, season 17 ep 16.
i did a quick look using search function for medicine.
google might find the quote but its unlikely.
lots of people can think they would specifically remember the same thing. its how memory works, you won't remember every single Grampa line, after a while memory merges together quotes as literally in your brain it will group grampa memory's, as the memorys get older memorys get mixed together and you can't always separate things. its why a lot of things we remember correctly, but from the wrong situation. so you can remember 10 different quotes of his all mixed together and they sound about right. more over, if you ask someone if they've heard the quote, they go to grampa memorys of their own, and because there isn't always a clear difference between the memorys, people can often think they have heard that specifically because they are led there, and all the memories together can make that quote, even though it never happened.
all in all, memory, not hugely reliable in these cases.
saying that the quote may have happened, but it might not have.
