****SIMS 3****

Loving the game ! not played it much (due to football manager / world of warcraft and getting back from my holiday)

Looking forward to having a good little session tonight :)

Some awesome pics going up :p

amazing how they can really find it acceptable to release a game that clearly isn't stable. Course it would be easy to just blame EA for it.... well come to think of it most their games that come out are rushed. But i find ubisoft to be worse tbh.

I find it one of the most stable games I've played. Only once I had an issue where some sim got stuck while relaxing on a sun lounger. The arms were furiously trying to do another action but the body would not move. It was weird.

No CTDs at all and it runs really well. Using a G8800, C2D and other things. Great fun!

I am currently running this game on a HTPC with an integrated Radeon 3200, and a 2.5ghz dual core Athlon at 1900x1080. Obviously the performance is pretty poor in this system.

Does anyone know which graphics card I could upgrade to be able to run the game with all the graphics options turned up and still get good frames at my resolution?

As it is a HTPC I am looking at a card that either comes with a passive cooling solution, or a card that I could put a passive cooling solution onto without it overheating.
I was thinking of a 4770 if I could source one, and installing a thermalright cooler on it.
Not sure if this would be overkill though.

Cheers.

I also get the crashing problem a lot. Annoyign as heck when you havent saved!

it was very annoying, spent ages doing everything and it just crashed to desktop, and saving ever five minutes is really irritating as it distracts you from the game because it takes so long. i am really angry that it was released with this problem because apart from that its been a lot of fun, better than the other two imo

Sucks. I didn't know you stop ageing or delay it. I had a LVL 8 military career, I got married to some tasty bird and adopted a little girl. I threw a wedding party afterwards and the next day i popped my clogs and social services came round and took the little girl away GAME OVER.

You do it though options. You can either turn it off completely or slow it down.

Mine was freezing the computer completly and required a hard reset.

Upgraded my graphics drivers to the latest Nvidia's and, touch wood, i've had no crashes since !

was that from your work or old age?

Being able to die from old age in a game like this is moronic i think. I mean you wana build up a huge place and that o... your dead? lol.

It encourages the social-familial side of the gameplay... you know, carrying on the gameplay and 'story' through posterity and all that ;).
