Be interesting to hear why he didn't pull into the Pits... I can only think that it's because the team didn't realize he was on fire. Crazy to see a driver putting out his own car though!

Alonso did a dive to the pit wall for his team at the finish and then suddenly remembered there was a car parked there!

Not a chance, Red Bull and Vettel was the fastest car this weekend. He should have got pole and was clearly the faster car today. It was Alonso that was the difference versus the driver that makes too many mistakes in the fastest car.

Singapore is such a duff track. So glad it's Suzuka next week.

I'm almost hoping Ferdy does get his third title now. He join one hell of a group.

It was that spin that set him on fire I think, you saw him downshift and the exhaust flames set his car alight I think.

Advertising and money they wanted to finish the race. And it was only a little bit of smoke at the pit entrance, looked more like engine oil than a fire.

Just watched the fire again - flames coming from the airbox are not generally a good sign of health.

Suspect that car is pretty much scrap now. Possibly reuse the anything from the drivers seat forward...Wouldn't use that tub again though.

Maybe he didn't pit as they had parc ferme etc. set up and would have been a hazard with so many people down there?

He could have pulled up on the left at the start of the pit.

Same here, I actually predicted Fernando to win in one of the pre F1 season threads (Though he was kinda favourite anyway)

- though the Red Bulls are still extremely fast, so time will tell. He's not doing too badly at the moment though!

Suzuka is my favourite track
