Covering the undercut, we've seen it dozens of time this year, if you try and stay out it never never pays off unless you can stay and not pit at all without any drop off, something that was unlikely.

Webber would have easily taken Button if Button had stayed out for 5 laps and then realised he was losing time.

They clearly weren't that confident they could last another 11 laps without dropping significant pace, as we've seen, the tyres are very much just dropping off completely.
 
Now all we need, are the usual suspects to bleat out their usual "well, hamilton will still beat button in points by the end of the year"..

I don't begrudge Vettel (like kettle) the championship, he's earnt it well enough.

I thought that, but I just couldn't seeany way he would have lost 3-4 seconds a lap to catch button still... guess they're the ones with the stats though!

As they've just shown on TV, there is a 4 second lap difference now between the guys on new tyres to those on old.
 
2 seconds faster than Vettel?

Must be traffic surely :p

Interesting to see how McLaren proceed if Button is the only guy in the hunt.
