Shouldn't a single graphic's card would run at PCI-E x16 on this motherboard? I thought the PCI-E slots would run at x8 if I was using SLI.Is there anyway to change the bus speed?

If I'm stuck at x8 does this mean I won't be able to run a 8800 series card in the future?

I'm using bios 12 and a single XFX 7800GTX graphic's card.

Cheers!

Something is broken then as there is no software/BIOS adjustment. I suppose you have tried reseating the graphics card?

Just taken out and reseated the graphics card and the probelm is still there.

So now the question is which is faulty the motherboard or the graphics card?

Shows the same on my setup (8x Link) and @8x in everest - afaik tho its actually running x16 (its a 7950GX2 on an Asus P5N32-E SLI board) I see no performance difference to my old DFI Infinity 975X anyhow... maybe its just one of those things like the old OS reporting 2x AGP when it was really running in 8x.
