Single most expensive component you've bought?

GF7800 GTX when it first came out at £234.94. Close second comes the AMD X2 3800+ at £229 (depressing how cheap it is now), and Corsair 2GB XMS3500 at £211.44. Bought them all at the same time as well.

£250 on my first 2x cd writer a long, long time ago. Failures were high especially with music cds.

I remember that, the nervous half hour wait when you didn't do anything taxing with the PC in case the dreaded buffer underrun occured. I can't quite top the £250, in fact my first CDR was about half that but because I was still at school I couldn't afford it on my own so me and a mate clubbed together to buy one. :)

£130 on a 9800pro :)
The only time i've spent more than £100 on a component. (My personal rule  ) It was worth it though :D

Prob AMD FX-55 (Clawhammer) + Abit AX8 M/B was about £450

20" Apple Cinema Display £420

More recently SM-226BW £270

Peripheral wise and overall would be a toss up between my TFT and midi keyboard...both came in at around £390'ish each.

But as for component, prob my latest graphics card I suppose.
