41 more tracks to download from Singstore right now (spent £11 myself), 300+ to be added before years end?,and next update is apprently the 17th. Cost 99p each with video and are about 60 to 80meg download each, saw an option for Song packs also, this could be where the old singstar packs/song will probably end up, leaving the rest of the store for newer titles

Eyetoy takes 25sec video clips which can be uploaded to your SIngstore Profile for friends only or public viewing (i have 2 up already making a fool of myself), max of 10 video uploads, once full you deleate old to add new, same with photo's, takes 10 random pictures of which you can upload. Can rate video's with 5 star rating system.

Basically is just Singstar, actual gameplay not really changed from PS2 days, just slicker interface and added Online store, still great for a laugh and theres loads of people using it already. Bad connection issues tonight though but thats a free service for ya i suppose and will probably calm down.

Mics are same as PS2 mics which plug into a usb dongle with 2 phono jacks, wireless/blu-tooth - so they say next year. Not noticed any lag on screen but i wouldn't notice anyway as my singing as is the rest of the family is awfull, lol

Anyway you only gotta buy it once and you just update when you want with songs that you want rather than the year update disc that came for the ps2, so IMHO worth every penny

erk, my ps3 is suddenly refusing to connect to my router. thats not good :/

edit: **fixed**

im still having a slight problem with lag. they really should have given us the option to adjust the video. my mic input lags ever so slightly. its not so bad now, it was over a half a second behind!

From what I understand the improvements to the ps3 version are more to do with the online component, where you can upload your clips (think youtube meets x-factor-meets-idiots with a mic :) ), download new tracks etc, I am assuming the ps2 version will be through addon disks. I believe for a "small" fee you will also be able to buy all 350 previously released sinsgtar songs.

I believe if you go to the 02 centre this week they have some sound proof booths that you can mess around in for free and check it out (if you live in London, or care that much ).

Cheers mate I will do that, see what the boss thinks. I was hoping that because the disc had a miuch higher capacity that more tracks would be on. After all whats the point of having a XX gig disc and not loading it with say all the tracks from the old ps2 games?

because they'd make more money if they charged you extra for them, basically lol

Then its pointless burning them to a blu ray disc. Basically all my mrs wants to do is get juiced up with her mates then play singstar when they get in. If they aren't adding extra I may as well just buy her the ps2 version cheaper and with the mic's we already have

you might as well:) dont look to me for answers, i dont have them lol. i'm just telling you how it is - they will (obviously) make more if they charge for additional content. 30 tracks included is a fair amount. 30 tracks, online content, 2 mics....its not so bad for ~£40.

besides, the ps3 version is available without the mics. ive no idead if the usb adapter is the same as the ps2 version or whatnot. but they are certainly available game-only in major retail shops.

At last my long awaited pre-order landed on my door mat this morning (7/12/07) as promised.

This edition still uses the same type of USB Mics as the previous PS2 versions (I expect wireless ones will be produced and make their way on to the market in the near future). However, this hasn't spoilt the fun and with the revised screens, interface, SingStore and Online additions it proves a must for any enthusiast and budding singer.

If you loved the previous PS2 versions, you'll love this addition to the "Family" and you'll probably buy the PS3 simply to play it (just like I did). Also, all the previous PS2 versions of Singstar work on my PS3 (60 Gb model), which is great :-)

Finally, the best and most fun song is "Pass The Dutchie" by Musical Youth - Fantastic and great for a party!

Christmas is coming, make the party go with a swing, buy the new Singstar, it's great (in my opinion).

Having never owned any musical guitar singing games etc (normally I don;t even recognise the names of a lot of the music). I like the looks of the songs this has (I actually recignise them).

Unfortunately none of my mates would ever consider singing into a mic in front of their ps3 as fun, so it is very limited multiplayer appeal to me. Is this any good if you are just using it for 1 player? (I don't even know how it works to be honest, but I see lots of songs I know on the list and it is only £20). I assume it is just like you see music video on screen and Karaoke and somehow the microphone scores you on whether it thinks you are singing in tune?

I pondered getting Guitar Hero on the 360/ps3 but basically if you break it down and don't like the music it is just a game testing your reaction times in essence.

Yeah, you're scored on tone etc.

Also, this thing is spot on for parties !!!. After a truck full of beer put this on and you're away !! ;)
