Sirs - Spec some super socks, s'il vous plait

They arrived, the rebranded ones and they don't seem any different to the older ones.
Quoting myself 'cos it's been a couple of weeks - I can definitely confirm that these are the same as the older ones.

Due to a miscalculation, I ended up with twenty pairs for the price of ten. Result.

I recently bought some bamboo socks... About 60% bamboo fibre if I recall correctly.
Can't comment on longevity yet but they are super nice feeling and comfortable compared to whatever random TKMAXX ones I usualy buy.
Would recommend.

Looking for new socks too. I've gone past the stage of getting socks for Christmas, running out. Looking for some that last. And aren't just black or navy!

Never found anything as comfortable and durable as M&S Cool & Fresh socks - though sadly they aren't a patch now on what they used to be a few years back and the cushioned ones they've just doubled up the material on the sole now instead of the more technical cushioning they had before. Still better than everything else I've tried.

Look at Darn Tough merino walking/hiking socks, expensive but they have a lifetime guarantee!

My darn tough socks have taken some abuse, I prefer the thin ones personally. But if your not hiking, then it won't matter.

I use these for work, for a value:comfort ratio they're pretty good. Last longer than most other crap too, so do their boxers.

Bridgedale WoolFusion Trekkers, recently rebranded as Hike Midweight Merino Performance (although some retailers call them Merino Endurance).

I've got ten pairs, I've had them for around seven or eight years and they're just at the stage where the elastic is starting to go around the tops. Quite simply the best socks I've ever had although they're midweight rather than really light. However, I'd recommend giving them a look as they're good all year round.
I still recommend these. I bought another ten pairs a year or so ago after having had the originals for 8 or 9 years. Due to a Hermes **** up, I ended up with twenty pairs and I’ve only actually used ten of them so far.

And a slight bump to this.

I noticed at the weekend that a couple of my Bridgedale socks have got holes, they've started coming apart at a seam. As they have a 'lifetime warranty', I emailed them on Saturday, they've just replied asking me what address they should send the replacements to.

I'm impressed.

Uniqlo colour socks are decent quality and price. Plus, they come in a lot of different colours.

They aren't mega durable walking socks, but they are a nice thickness for everyday use and 4 pairs for £12 is a good deal.

I can report that the Peter Storm 'base liner' socks which I mentioned trying way back near the start of this thread work very well as light, cool socks.

Still on the search for the perfect thicker, warmer option though. Got some Peter Storm midweight hiking socks a few days ago to try out.

I've tried out the midweight socks tonight for the first time, and they are super comfy. Will have to see how robust they are. If they're decent, then £20 for two pairs is not bad (plus GoOutdoors had a buy one get one half price deal on.)

Bridgedale sent me three pairs under warranty for the two socks I had where the seam started coming undone.

That's proper good service, can't argue with that at all. Very pleased.
