Six Months with the E92 M3

Wasn't just brake fluid - that bit was about 90 quid I think. Should have worded it better in the s/sheet :)

phew! I was going to say! Even £90 is steep!

I did it in my RS4 with 1l of oil and my mum on the brakes. Worked a treat and took about 25 mins!!!

I think for the performance and useability you get out of an E92 M3, its running costs are pretty reasonable. Far better than something like an Aston Martin V8; ok that is slightly more special from an ownership point of view, but it will cost you exponentially more to run than an E92 M3.

I used to set it cooler in my E30, so I could have a hot windscreen a feet and a cool face. It's a handy knob.

Thinking about it, my rover has a slider that put cool air through the face vents. Excellent.

Wish mine took that long. With Evo's unless you brim the reservoir (I.e. way past the full mark) it won't bleed. It needs to be practically spilling out of the reservoir.

If you declare something as 'stupid' on a discussion forum you must be prepared to discuss that opinion

Yup, happy to. Operative term though is that *for me* I find it a stupid & silly add on. Pretty sure I say in there that I'm sure there's others who don't.

No big deal.

Aha, I did.

I do know some people like this feature – you can adjust the temperature of the air that actually hits your upper body for example – but personally I just find it totally useless and pointless.

So there.

I think that's fair enough, although I'll ask one question.

Have you never been driving, often when a bit tired or at night, where you've felt a bit drowsy and need a blast of cold air from the face vents to perk you up for a few miles before taking a break? I get this from time to time and this feature would be really useful rather than setting the overall cabin temeprature down and inconviniencing my passenger.

the little wheel can be seen as genius in a single zone climate car, but what if you want a cold blast as a driver but your passenger is already cold? it over rides the temps for the whole set of face vents, meaning dual climate doesnt work properly :(

I don't care about that, its my car not hers.

MacRS4, how do you feel about cancer drugs? You probably don't use them so they must be totally useless and pointless right? :D

Cancer drugs are the only reason I can sit up and type this, so I have a quite a strong positive vibe towards them, thanks....

...although I understand the point you're getting at. I've never stated it was pointless for everyone, just that I found it a pointless feature.

Great write-up! If I could afford to run an M3 I would be out shopping for one right now.

Could we perhaps get a picture of the interior with the new gear knob please?
