Skiing/Boarding 13-14

Well that was epic!

Went a lot better than I thought it would. Started off with the pure basics, toe/heel edge talk etc. how to put bindings on, getting strapped in, making a ledge, walk up a slope. Then started practicing stances and using the toe edge to go down a slope, then diagonally, and then to be able to stop in between changing directions!

Definitely going to get level 2 booked in. Can't stop looking at gear on the interwebs now! :D

Little video of Tignes. Views were amazing there.
Wasn't really used to using the GoPro as it wasn't mine but deff going to buy one now.

I like how the YT still shows my wife in the background - I tried to film her but mostly pointed it the wrong way so good that it used this still out of the 5 seconds I actually pointed it at her! lol

Tignes - Best place ever. Where were you staying?

Yeah I'd certainly go back there. Exactly what I want - a bunch of chair lifts from your hotel heading in different directions for 100s of km of piste. Perfect.

I stayed at the Hotel Alpina. Was meeting people from Gone Boarding forum who booked in at the Diva but by the time I got home that night it was full!
Alpina was just next door like and was decent enough and no complaints.

Will deff be looking to go back next season ASAP.
Meeting other people worked out really well too - we all got on as if been mates for years so that was fun

Plus the guy works on film sets and is heading to Abu Dhabi on next one once they finish up the new season of 24 and we can prob get a cheap trip out there - and other places so that worked out well!!

Off to Morzine next week for some 'water' skiing.... It will be the last time I let the a sales rep determine where I go! Can't say I am looking forward to it!

Good Afternoon,

Only been back for just over a week and was already looking at skiing holidays/breaks for next year already, just to get some ideas and places to consider.

Has anyone here ever been to Norway, in particular Trysil?

Came across it and just wanted peoples opinion on it. From the early research I've done it does seem a little expensive, but would appreciate someone's first hand experiences of it, if anyone has been?

Thanks

Anyone got any tips on how to keep their ski boots fresh and clean smelling?

Can you get some of that stuff they use at bowling alleys after use? No idea what it is.

Had my second boadring lesson at xScape last night, good fun again. Feel like I am getting the hang of it. Two more to do then it's free reign!

Hi All. So it hasn't even been 3 months since I got back from my last skiing holiday and I want to look into booking next years one again. I went to Andorra (Arinsal) on Feb 1st of which was my first skiing holiday outside of school with a mate. He had never ski'd before and this was my 4th time.

We managed to get ski's, boots, lift pass, flights, transfers, accommodation and catering for £470 which was an absolute bargain. It snowed almost every night we were there and it was a great atmosphere.

The only thing was we booked this holiday less then a month before our leaving flight so I am under the impression we got it cheap for that reason. I would not mind going back to Andorra but it would be nice to go somewhere else. We would have around £900 to spend and this would be between Januray - April. Where would you guys suggest for this price. This will be for a group of around 4 people between 20-24 years old including flights, transfers, accommodation, ski equipment hire and lift pass.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Cheers
