you will probably think I am being a snob or something, but I have just put £900 deposit on a new car, paid a £900 credit card bill and paid £630 insurance, along with all the other bills and payment, im left with £600 to live on for the whole month. I havent been this skint for ages. Anyone got any good money saving tips for me please! :)

£600 a whole month? Mate I could get wasted every night for a month, eat tesco's finest, rent, utility bills for that period of time and still not spend £600.

Buy a really expensive bottle of wine and see if you can down it in ten flat.

I knew I was going to get reprocussions for this :( I get the message!

This has to include all my food and petrol too. I think since going into a job I have forgotten what skint is.

Looking at your sums loos like you earn 3k+ a month which is what 52k P/a. If i earnt that much i simply wouldnt know what to spend it. Leaving £600 for 4 weekends is going to look like peanuts if you are used to living on nearly £800 per week, its difficult for anyone to give any advice as its like anything, we all have to pay for things that we dont want to now and again leaving us skint surely there have been times when you have had a less cash to survive on than the full 3k?.

Unless of course most fo that cash was from saving etc then of course my sums are wrong. But 600 for 4 weeks isnt hard, lets say £40 per week fuel max and the same again for shopping £80x4= 320, leaves you with £280 for the month so say £70 per week, its very doable.

Aye, I agree with the others, £600 is nowhere near skint. After all my bills, rent etc each month, I'm left with about £200-250 to play with. £100 of that goes on petrol each month, so I'm effectively left with about £150, of which I have to save as much as I can towards my spending money for my summer holiday.

And I still consider myself to be fairly well off as I know there are people far worse off than that.

I am left with £600 to last a month every month. Most of that goes on petrol for my hungry car. If I had a car that drank less petrol I'd consider myself pretty loaded for the month.

if you really think you are skint then dont take credit cards with you, just enough money to last you that day (£20)! now that doesnt sound like much!

Sometimes things are better left unsaid tbh.

I can't say I really feel any sympathy, in your situation you would have no trouble getting a CC and just off setting the layout for a few months.

Do you live with your parents?
If so, save the money for a house. You really cant have enough when it comes to "the purchase" :)

£600 may not be 'skint' to most but if you are used to having a lot more money then it can certainly seem that way. I know for a fact that I could easily spend at least £600 in a month from going out and eating but I shouldn't as my income wouldn't come close to covering it.

panthro I don't know what your life is like so it is difficult to suggest ways to save money but if you don't already try cooking your own food as that will save money and also try not to go out as often would be two pretty obvious suggestions to me :)

I'm used to having about £1k a month in disposable cash myself, I'm just saving it for when I get my house!
