Sky Anytime +

I bought home plugs to use the service. Worked fine but our sky package is the bare minimum so content wise it was extremely limited for us. For people with bigger subscriptions it may be more worthwhile.

Im thinking of getting Sky again for this. Am i right in thinking its basically the same as netflix in that you can just stream a film whenever?

If you have a thompson box, try phoning up Sky and asking why it doesnt work, I did and got a swap out for free, nice 1TB box with latest hardware, much quicker than the old version.

When did you buy your Thompson box and from where? I got mine nearly 5 years ago from Comet, and spoke to them yesterday online (although asking for a new box due to mine getting failed recordings etc) and they said I couldn't have a new 1TB box for £49 let alone free as I'd already used an offer when I bought my current HD box. Might try the 'I cant get anytime+ angle' next. What exactly did you say? Manage to get free self install or for £15? Ta.

With Netflix your paying to watch the films, with Sky Anytime+ your just getting what you subscribe to so if you dont have the movie package you wont get any free movies.
Rental movies are available through anytime+ but again you have to pay extra for them.

I just tried this. Firstly online, and the guy just said phone them. I called them and went through to cancellations. Told her that my Thompson box wasnt compatible and the best she could do was a standard box for £44. The 1TB box was going to be £164!? Even more than I get can it online. She said there wasn't any offers at all for the 1TB box. How did you manage to get it for free?! When did you get your swapped?

Most likely got a free service call and its all the engineer had. Lucky.

Just set this up myself on my 1TB box with home plugs all is working fine can anyone tell me if you can download on to two boxes at the same time i.e a film down stairs and a different film upstairs?

It was 5 weeks ago, literally just phoned them up saying I tried to get it working but couldnt, they put me through to technical who said oh your box isn't compatible, I asked anyway to get it sorted, and she just offered me a new box, no hassling or anything, they phoned back to arrange a time when the engineer could come and swap it out, and all for free.

Yes but the anytime subscription is individual to each box and both need connected to the router.

Got the Anytime+ sky wireless connector yesterday. Simple install, working on BT Broadband but you do need to go online and enable Anytime+ on your account.

wired all mine up this weekend and moved the NTL phone socket as well whilst I was at it. I now have 2 RJ45 sockets in the front room and Sky Anytime + activated and working well. Wiring the face plates was so much simpler than I thought :)

Ordered another couple of Homeplugs yesterday for this. Had my Sky+HD box for 3 months and not bothered to set it up yet.

Is there anywhere that lists what's available? I've never been tempted by HD, but this could swing it as the wife has our + box clogged up with dozens of movies from literally years ago which she's never gotten around to watching but won't delete. If I could just d/l them anytime then it'll be worth £10/m
