Has anyone done this yet ? I just checked the website and it doesnt let me select Sky Q for being an existing customer. Wonder what the pricing is.

Pathetic. Won't let me order because we're not on Sky Broadband. How useless can you get. :( Might just tell them where to go with our Sky subscription.

Phoned them and they have no date for when Q will be available for non Sky Broadband customers. :(

Correct and while we have no confirmed date for other Broadband suppliers we have been told it will only be weeks rather than months Cosimo.

Hope this helps some people out. Just called up to get a quote.

So My current package and Price

Sky TV including Movies and Sports
Sky Multiroom
Sky Fibre unlimited (upto38mb)
Sky Line Rental
Sky Evenings and weekends

Total Package Price: 92.40

This price is not the biggest discount ever but is about 23 pound cheaper than full price.

SkyQ Quoted Price over the phone.

SkyQ + First Mini Box 99
Second mini Box 99
Install 50

So Upfront 250.00

Package Price going forward

Sky Q TV including sports and movies 88.50
Sky Line Rental 17.40
Sky Fibre 10.00 ( half price for 12 months previous offer)
Sky evenings and weekends 4.00

Total Package Price 120.00 give or take a few pounds.

So things to remember... ANY TV discount you have will end if you take SkyQ.. Although an discounts you have in relation to Telephone or broadband will continue ( he was very specific about this )

So for me we are looking at and extra 28.00 + 250.00 one off to have the new equipment plus be able to watch Sky in 3 rooms. Apparently This also includes the new Sky Hub

My multiroom setup with Family and Movies with F1 from the HD package will be £1.50 a month more plus £149 setup and services. Sky silver and Sky mini boxes included and hence no more box cost.
Just have to wait until BT Broadband users are allowed in :-)
Andi.

I just spoke to Sky to see if you can pass discount from a Family bundle over, they were having none of it.

£120 a month for TV that I barely watch other than sports just isn't going to happen, if they had already rolled out some 4K channels I might have been interested but given i'm not using multi room at the moment i'd be paying £40 a month more for basically nothing, unless i'm missing something. Sure, the syncing content to tablet would be nice, but I doubt i'd use it very often apart from going on holiday. Sky Q looks like a home run for people already paying over the odds for multi room, but for those of us with just a single box it just doesn't feel worth it to me.

Plus Sky already take the absolute **** with the amount of adverts on, even more infuriating when you pay for box office only to get adverts. Disgusting tbh.

If you upgrade to sky q then need new lnb cable and may replace new dish cos existing lnb cable which use for sky HD don't work on sky q so need new one.. I leave it until later this year.. It too costly at the moment so I wait untll it up and running full that get early time

I hope this is not the case (certainly didn't say anything on the phone) as this house i have just bought has all the cables running under the floors to a small cupboard under the stairs so it does not use the exisiting cable then i am out as I am not lifting all my floors up just for that

£43.50 a month extra for me.....**** off sky!
I don't need an extra box and what the hell is the £250 cost for....does the £50+ a month fee not cover that? Anyone that goes for this is an idiot quite frankly!

It's only the lnb that needs changing.

Yet people moan for £90 football tickets.

What to consider is the initial 1st year cost - when you look at it that way (like mobile phone contracts) - it's ludicrous

So initial fee plus monthly increase = mental prices

Also - when upgrading to SkyQ - you lose all the material on your existing boxes you have recorded, they become useless as soon as Q is installed. I've got a 2tb box with 80% used (kids stuff, programs etc etc) - would be a shame to loose all that.

Yes - I could download/stream it all from the new box - but the overall hassle is a pain.

Also without Sports and movies - I can see me getting shafted on the initial install plus monthly cost.

Plus you have nothing resaleable at the end of the contract/if you decide to cancel down the line - at least with current boxes etc - you can sell/take hard drives out etc.

it's terrible. 90 quid a month they want from me, for the Q silver, family channel pack (no movies or sports), sky talk evenings and weekend and fibre unlimited (with a WOOHOO estimated 20-something mb bandwidth). PLUS £199 install fee. For an existing customer! I'd get a better deal as a new customer..suprise.

I wanted Q, but that's a joke.
