That firmware should be for staff only as far as I am aware...
Are you guys staff, or customers?
Yes, BT charge an extra 5 or 6 quid for it to work on minis. Daylight robbery.
I really like Sky Q when it works, but on my mini's I can probabably watch for 10 minutes then I get the error and I can't watch anything unless I go and unplug everything...
I've re-set it all, re-setup everything always the same and I use a
ASUS RT-AC87U AC2400 Router which is a good and not cheap router.. I can connect to my wifi from the bus stop over the road so it is not a wireless distance issue.. super frustrating and not sure what to do!
If you are using your own router you need to lock the 5ghz channel to 36 to get the minis to use the 5ghz network, if you don't do that it will only use the 2.4ghz band and you will get dropouts
I think it is locked onto 36 but I will check that now.
Thanks
It was set to Auto I think, I've put it to "channel control 36" .. hopefully that helps.
In fairness when looking at the router displaying what was what... all 3 sky boxes displayed channel 36 anyway but maybe they were jumping around.
I have homeplugs, I was tempted to "wire" the system up.. but was wondering if you can wire the main box via homeplug then still connect wireless with the minis
also wirless mode Auto or N only you reckon? on 5ghz
The mini boxes will connect to channel 36 but you also need to lock it in on the router to utilise the 5ghz band once the router is locked to 36 it should be fine.
You don't need home plugs as the skyQ box and the minis have it built in, you just need to activate it in the service menu
Not really when you think you have to pay £21+ for Sky Sports on BT.
Sky have got BT over a barrel so for them to charge extra for BT Sport is probably a coup.
What so if the sky box's are plugged into mains they act as homeplug? or do they need ethernet cables?
I have a few good homeplugs if needed and cables
yes, router is now locked to 36.
Just to confirm, there is no active software update rolling out at the moment.
We will let the Community know should that change.
Just to confirm, we still can't be bothered giving you any information whatsoever and there might eventually be an update which might fix some things but don't hold your breath

Why would Sky publicise it's software update plans?
Question ?
Is it possible to buy the Sky Q router without being a Sky Q account
