Hi, I switched to Sky BB from BT and think I regret it, I keep loosing connection on wireless and it just says no bb connection, I phoned them and asked if I could use a better router to which I was told I would not get any help as its not there product also it may not work as I need to get the user and pass,
my question is what router should I get as I have my tv connected to it also my cctv and one pc all these are hard wired with cat5e and cat6 and we also have 2 laptops connected to it not all downloading at the same time lol. Could any of you fine networkers explain how I could get the pass and user and which router to get please, I am a total NOOB when it comes to routers and wireless networking:confused:. Any help really appreciated, btw I have the Sagem router.
Regards, Wayne..:)

Who makes the current Router you have? I don't think anyone has cracked the latest Sky D-Link Router as yet.

have you checked your setup and made sure you're not double filtered? Is it the wireless connection that drops out or the connection itself from the Router to the internet? it's possible if it's just wireless the Sky Router is defaulting to a wireless channel that's already in use by a neighbour. Download InSSIDer and check if it's a wireless issue.

What exactly is happening? It's not quite clear in your post. Is it:

a) wireless connection drops but router stays connected to internet?
b) internet connection drops but router doesn't reboot?
c) router reboots, causing internet connection to drop?

Hi and thank you for info so far,
My problem is, when browsing on either laptop sometimes when changing pages it will say no connection and go to the router page but if I wait some times I can then refresh and get the correct page or the odd time I have had to restart the router.
All my neighbours seem to be on bt routers when I checked wireless connections. I hope this explains it a little more and sorry for no info last time also router is Sagem..
Thanks all for any help offered.
Regards, Wayne..

I get the same problem, haven't found a fix anywhere. I'd recommend using the sky password online. Forgotten the site address...

https://www.cm9.net/skypass/

Go there, enter details, and it'll give you your username/pass. Which you can use with any other router.

Hope it helps.

They have cracked the new router also fyi Misscheif

try changing the channel that your wireless broadcasts on. It may be that your neighbours are broadcasting on the same/similar channel.

Ok So I have dl the inSSIDer program and found another on channel 1 so I switched to channel 6 I am hoping this does the job, Many thanks for all the help you have given me.
