Currently with sky for the lot, HD, phone, and Internet (16mb). Paying around £50 a month.

Thinking of jumping over to Virgin for a similar package.

Would it be a wise move?

Sky only offers extra channels on HD that only a handful in the UK would ever consider watching. Unless you get sky movies or sky sports I would certainly go back to virgin. Broadband is miles better. Can record 2 channels and watch a 3rd. Virgin on demand is amazing.

Thats it, i dont bother with the movies or sports. House is up for sale so i think when were in the next one, i'll jump over to Virgin. As i said before, i download a fair bit of HD content so a 50meg line will be nice!

oh and i forgot...i'm fed up of the sky HD box crashing all the time! already done the PSU fix on it and its still crap.

I went for XXL broadband, M+TV, M phone, and V+HD box. all free. and 2 months free except line rental and £5 hd charge, then £49.50 a month.

so phoned sky to cancel and they think i can have tv with them and internet and phone with virgin for a total of £46. I need to confirm what virgins XXL and phone costs are per month. Sky where saying £29 a month, i think its more?

:) We signed up to virgin HD a few weeks ago. TV is just awesome. Internet is absolute ****!

What package did you go for?

We have the highest tv package and the on demand stuff is excellent, especially the HD stuff, loads to choose from.

is "on demand" free? is that like sky's "anytime"?

I have virgin xxl boardband, xl tv, xl telephone, one standard box and one v+ box. I have heard many story about the boardband being rubbish but i've never had a problem in over 7 years of having them even in the telewest days you get free 7 day virgin newsgroup access and full 50mb all day everyday. There VOD service is great you can watch HD contain with the press on a button. I have no need for the movie channel due to having a dvd/blue ray rental service and sports doesnt interest me even though you do get espn HD which is a great picture. The v+ box is a great bit a kit record 2 channel and watch one and all this for £67 a month can't complain .

Hi mate, can you email me in trust? got a question for you ;)
