It would be interesting to see how these chips are doing and what there capable of so if you'd like to post your results here.
Simple test to keep a standard, Cinebench R15 X45 multi at lowest vcore possible and max frequency attainable, also VID would be good to.

So for example

6700K CR15@ 1.31v, max 4.9ghz @ 1.42v, vid 1.18v

Nick no correlation at all from air and sub zero on Skylake. A great air chip often a dog on ln2.

Is there any trick to delidding Skylake or is it same as Haswell?
I mean, are the methods the same or is there something new to look out for...

Bloke on here delidded a 4790k using dental floss, soaked the glue with isopropyl alcohol prior to slicing through it.

Cool. Guess I will be going for the EVGA mITX after all and 6600K, in a month or two.
Considering how awful my old 4770K was for temps and how the Skylake looks temps-wise, delidding seems to be a must.

So i take it Ian that binned chips will go in your systems first?? Whats the likelihood of ocuk selling LN2 binned chips in the very near future??

Not sure.

The best sytems chips may not be the best LN2 chips.

I have not binned many myself. Very low OEM availability currently. When we get I will bin for both systems and benching.

Here is mine:

Batch L520C033
VID 1.264V

I haven't found much info online about delidding skylake

Will coolers still fit well without the heat spreader fitted since the die is slightly lower down?

I wanna delid when I put my system together.

Just put the IHS back on and you will be fine, use Liquid metal in between die and ihs for best results, you can buy black heat resistant sealant to stick the lid back down if you so wish.
If you attempt it make sure your blade is a new one, this requires less effort to cut through and should therefore create less accidents!!

There is a short guide. Seems a simple operation, unlike the Haswell.
You can't use vice at all, because of PCB being much thinner.
It's just a razor, cut on corners, then along the edges and remove gently.
There are no caps to cut through on the surface under the IHS so it's failry easy compared to Haswell. I think there is a diurect link in the 'Skylake delid' thread around OCuk forums.
