Id try the dental floss method. Clamp the chip in a vice, soak the glue with ipa then slice through pulling the floss upwards.
 
Delidding seems easyer on skylake

If you ask me its no different to any other, when i first did a 3770 i looked at pics of the bare pcb/die and i knew where things were, the main risk which remains constant throughout is nicking the pcb possibly damaging a trace, setters suggestion looks like a safe option for the nervous but i will always use a blade and as soon as i get a sample it will be done.
 
Its very easy to delid on Skylake. No resistor on the top of the PCB and a very small die. I just use a blade.
