** SKYLAKE NOW AVAILABLE & IN STOCK!! **

My current CPU was probably the best CPU purchase I ever made. I can't see me upgrading my X79 i7 3930k for some time yet. I probably won't upgrade now until 2017.

Ordered, time to put the x58 920 @3.6Ghz to rest :D

Over 500 quid. So, comparing ex-VAT to ex-VAT:

50 quid less and you can save more too by going used or shopping around, this is just a quick comparison.

I think Dave2150 was always going Skylake he's argued his points too much over the past few weeks not to :p

I'm going to try my hand at getting a used 5 series CPU.

I will not have people mocking my culture! But yeah 8.6m dong is almost 50 days paycheck for the average person. Guessing no one over there will be using a 6700k any time soon ^^

ive just ordered a skylake cpu etc, from ocuk, it is coming tomorrow, but I have just read that skylake disables usb during boot/installation, is that true ? I don't have a ps2 keyboard anymore..

Asked the same question myself a while back. Then found my own answer.

Most (probably all) motherboards should have a compatibility setting in the BIOS for Windows 7 installs. This should enable the USB2 ports that are usually next to the PS2 port to be used. The MSI boards definitely do, as I download a copy of the motherboard manual and had a root round in it.

I installed windows 10 on a 6700k system just fine with a plethora of USB devices, including keyboard and mouse.

interesting, but I need to get into the bios to change some settings first before I install windows 7 64bit
