As expected, so underwhelming![]()
There's always X99 which looks even more attractive with the price of 6700K.

Definitely the best upgrade path for anyone looking to move from an older platform such as sb. I might stick with my 4790k though. Skylake looks to be a major disappointment. There's always X99 which looks even more attractive with the price of 6700K.
everyone seems to keep pointing at the X99 5820k, but the boards are very expensive
from someone coming from a AMD 8350, i think the skylake 6700k is a good upgrade
I'm upgrading from 8350 as well.
Some x99 boards are expensive but as I'm going mATX the gigabyte x99m gaming 5 at £150 is very well priced and bundled with the 5820k is a really tempting £413 on Overclockers:

Asus gene VIII z170 is £170 and 6700k £265.
Things drawing me towards Skylake is the fact that it is brand new, might perform better in games (my main use) and use less electricity/require lower wattage PSU (not sure on last one, thoughts?).
To be honest mate I think coming from 8350 either will make a fair difference.
Really disappointed with those benchmarks, I was holding out building a gaming rig waiting for the skylake, but I may just go with the devils canyon now.
