Skylake Review Thread

I have an i7 860 at the moment, so where should I put my money? I just use the PC for gaming. The rest of the specs are in my sig.

4690k bundle? £255.

4790k bundle? £344.

Skylake i5 6600k? About £320 with motherboard.

dont forget you also need some new RAM for the 6600k, unless you have low power DDR3 currently and find board that supports it with Skylake.

EDIT: overclockers only has one z170 with DDR3L support, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-644-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=3078

Core i5 6600K 4.5GHz Overclock Skylake Benchmarks vs i7 4790K/ i7 3770K

Yup, that's the issue.

Not sure if my RAM would be compatible? It's Samsung Green DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz - nothing at all special. The product description seems to suggest it would be compatible.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail £209.99
1 x Asus Z170-P D3 Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £82.99
Total : £302.58 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

Google-fu says RAM has to be 1.35v or 1.25v to be classed as DDR3L, but reading board specs does say anything about low voltage RAM ???
