Skyline R34 GT-T

trying.......to stop..........myself.................digging up.............the...........MLR............posts............

banned for being too fast and eating the competition up :p 1200bhp during qualifying and 800bhp for the race at the flick of a switch :D

It's such a daft view though, everyone thinks it but its so silly.

You cant buy a Skyline GT-T, its not a GT-R
You cant buy a 530i, its not an M5.
You cant buy a 330d, its not an M3
You cant buy a Leon Cupra, its not a Cupra R
You cant buy a Civic VTi, its not a VTi-S
You cant buy.... etc etc.

valid point, but when you associate "Skyline" you immediately think of the GTR, not saying that the GTS is a bad car.

Yes, they make awesome race cars, and are a great base for creating a monster. But the fact remains that they aren't actually a great car from the factory. They are massively over-rated, that's a fact.

But that applies to everything ever made. It's just a strange statement to make. If I really want 1.2 Corsa Merit, nothing else can touch it, because that's what I want.

No, it looks like an akward characature of itself. An the R33 looks like an overweight S14.

But hey, that's just my opinion ;)

LOL, but as I was taking about a skyline and the OP was asking about one it all makes sense. Technicolour or Black and White, you takes your pick. :p

As for the looks, everyone is different otherwise every product would look the same, variety is the spice of life or a rather tastey snack at KFC depending on if your glass is half full or half empty tbh :D

Absolutely :)

overrated in what terms? they look fantastic. have fantastic engines, and are fantastically tunable - undeniable...

overall = fantastic car?

for 11k for a GTS-T or whatever, i dont think you will get anything with the same presence/aura/all the above...

i dont see how they are underated? They, like all japanese cars were capped at 280bhp. 4wd, 4 wheel steer. I dont see how anyone can call it 'underrated'.

Well if you want to know if you should be buying a GTST or GTR obviously I'd have a GTR....

Unfortunatly I only had 8k to spend so lumped for a 94 GTST and tbh I'm not dissapointed (Understatement)

Ive had it for 2 months, perfect condition, no rust, bullet proof engine and with performance of

0-60 6secs
160 top end (and I've had 155 out of it on a "Private road")

I'd say Go for it and do what me and everyone else does with a gtst

ENJOY!!!!!

a word of warning though - be very carefull where you get it from

And you can always get a GTR at a leter date, but for me RWD for *** win!

If you need advice on where to but, what to get, insurance pm me and ill give you my contact details

In that people seem to think Skyline = tarmac ripping monster. People (usually in their early teens) seem to have this idea that every Skyline is anbeatable, all destroying moster of a car.

That'a just not the case, they aren't actually that good from the factory, and that includes tha GTR. Big, heavy, detached..........

There's no denying that they are hugely tunable, have a great engine in terms of tuning potential, and are a great modifying base. Fact is though, as standard, they are massively over-rated.

It isnt an RX7 therefore its rubbish ;)

Give me an RX7 over a Skyline any day of the week. RX7: True drivers car. Skybus: Overweight, over-rated lard-arse.

mmm i think that they are rated differently. but not necessarily overrated.

they are a large comfy cruiser, with bruising performance that allows them to mingle, and often destroy the competition...

and these teens have played with standard skylines on GT4 etc and they are not that quick as std, but everyone knows that. stick a stage 1, header, ecu, cai, exhaust, etc etc and u have a car that is very desirable, very quick. and an instant head turner...

it doesnt require a 90k rebuild, has a decent interior, isnt lacking for torque, or bhp (inc mods), has good handling, plenty of aftermarket support. plenty of racing sucess, and a long history...

edit: and if u can afford 50k on a skyliner, u can afford 1-2k on upgrades to make it the tarmac snorting wonder they can be...in the same way that most RX7's are riced, many skylines get the treatment also.

read them before in work now not going to re-open. but look at the URL...to me that says lancer...

is the skyline designed as a rally car? skubaru, lancer? nope its not. its a refined cruiser...

Some people need the practicality. I mean whats the point in having a car like a skyline etc, if you can't fill it full of Hot Chicks (well at least 3) to show it off too. Deffo a difficult one to pull off in the RX7

See this is where a BMW 530i Sport obviously wins.
