Skyrim crossfire fix!

From the release notes it sounds like 11.11 v1 breaks more than it fixes, surely we must be due 11.10 cap1?

Yeah i just saw, quite allot of fixes, apparently AMD are working hard on a CAP for skyrim and it will be released ASAP. Surely can't take that long, take the fallout 3 CAP, tweak it so it works for everyone and enjoy!

Made a big difference for me, though it's still not rock solid at 60. Can live with occasional fps dips until official CAP's are released.

Right folks, for those with CF (and EF) please try this

1. Rename the .exe fallout3.exe
2. Use RadeonPro to create a new profile
3. Use Bioshock AA profile
4. Use Tweaks tab and se VSync to "Always off"
5. Tick triple buffering and Force aggressive API detection
6. On the menu, press the console key
7. Set your fov anyway
8. go in game and GPU usage should rise!

Have fun and report it. After 2 days of messing about, this will hopefully work!

Good work, hope it works for those which the original fix didn't. At the moment there is no way to launch it from steam, though if no cap is released by the end of today ill have a look and see if I can force the launcher to find fallout3.exe rather than tesv.exe

Tried all of these fixes they do get rid of the negative scaling thankfully but still only getting around 60% GPU usage. Makes it even worse when my brother has just got a 570 which runs it smoother. Hurry up and release the CAP's please AMD

Couldn't find an easy way of changing the skyrimlauncher.exe to look for fallout3.exe to get it to work in steam, couldn't even find TESV.exe in the hex string so its beyond me, just have to wait it out for the CAP.

Going to try 11.11 w/11.11 CAP1 later tonight and I'll report back, can't be much worse than 11.10 tbh.

I had one or two random crashes yesterday, no error or lock up the game just closed and put me to the desktop. Probs down to the fallout cap not being optimised for skyrim.

This is provided you have the windows setting 'Hide all known extensions' enabled. If its disabled it will appear as .exe

i know, but im quite sure the users who have the show extensions enabled would know to add the exe too, but the users who cant see the exe would probably be adding the exe too which would not make it work.

Fair point I was just clearing it up :)

I forgot to mention that I was viewing known extensions.

Had some slowdowns indoors in saarthal last night, wish amd would hurry up!

Didn't do much for me, already capped at 60 but I'm on older tech (4870x2), however, no matter what I do (forced off through CC and edited the .ini) vsync won't turn off.
However, it seemed to make mouse movement a little more smoother/responsive (also turned off mouse smooth before).

Which .ini did you edit? The edit I saw was for the skyrimprefs.ini but that made no difference I then added the same text to skyrim.ini in the display section and vsync turned off.

Andi.

Ditched fallout3.exe renaming, found a great thread on OCN, saying to try this .dll file, works a charm, 60fps constant, everything maxed out. I'll try upload it later if you can't find it, its called atiumdag.dll :)

renaming the TESV.exe file to fallout3.. (not fallout3.exe), just

fallout3

makes crossfire work perfectly. thank you.

/// actually i take that back. just have to wait for a proper cap profile. its not working perfectly. still dropping to 38 at points in towns, wtf. kinda fed up with this bs.
