Skyrim crossfire fix!

Sure is, just dropped that in the skyrim folder and it runs 'near' perfect, I still get the occasional fps drop but it only last a few seconds so I'm not too concerned.

The only remaining issue I have is that at certain times the game just disappears, no crash or error pop ups, its as if I'd just ask the game to quit to desktop. Seems to happen more when I try use the steam overlay than at any other time.

I've had that, riding along on my stolen horse then looking at desktop icons :D

Yeah, I just now make sure to save at every chance, especially if im going to use the steam overlay. I spent around 25mins talking to paarthunax only to be seeing my desktop straight after and find my save was from before the convo :(

I'd like to add that this .exe renaming does raise the FPS of crossfire setups, thus fooling people into thinking it's fixed, but it's still actually slower than a single card. I still get slightly higher frames with a single card.

Just have to wait for the CAPs. Can't believe AMD dropped the ball on yet another major release. They're lucky it worked for BF3 out of the box, otherwise they would have had the skin flayed off their backs sales-wise for the 7 series next year.

The damage is already done anyway, I'm avoiding AMD products like the plague after these cards.

I may well do the same, but the .exe renaming gives me better performance than a single card, had to really kill off the AA on a single card to get a solid 60. At the moment the .dll fix is working wonders for me with the exception to the above mentioned problem.

It is starting to take the mick a little, consant major releases are lacking any fundamental crossfire support, and for me BF3 didn't work out of the box, and in truth I haven't touched the game in over 2 weeks as I can't be bothered finding more issues, I'll try it after xmas and hope by 11.12 or 12.1 AMD have it working flawlessly.

It all depends on what nvidias 6xx series has to offer, I'll probably stick with AMD if they don't have any 2GB 650/670 cards at launch, even at 1080 I see some games eating a total of 2600mb which is more than even the 1.2GB 570's can currently offer.

Edit: bah, defending whiterun, got to 70% left and the game exited, last save was miles away :(
