Skyrim fail - Why don't you like it?

I shot a dual overcharged fireball at a troll that hadnt seen me yet. By the time it ran to me its health had already regenerated and was down by around 60% magicka!

Fun.

The one thing i dont like about it so far (5 hours in) is the trolls, theyre overpowered :(

I feel your pain brother. I thought they were like in Oblivion so I merrily ran upto one and proceeded to get my ass handed to me with my Hat.:D

I was also tapped in a fortress in the mountains and it took me ages to get out as it was guarded by two frost trolls.

On the off-chance the OP is being serious I would be one of those not totally enthusiastic about skyrim, simply because i find sp rpgs so lacking in interaction, which is why i suppose im hooked on mmos. I just find that i dont have the buy in factor and cant help not playing in a style which promotes a good game experience. Shprt attention span or something. Perfect example - How-to-Steal-in-Skyrim. Ill get it when it drops in price.

Edit - ah just read his slagging off fantasy comments, ok hes just trolling. Seriously you reckon playing a ct or a wwii game isnt fantasy?

Jump in and burn!

And the OP too

1. I don't watch x-factor

2. I do play games, C&C, RA, Quake, Half Life, Worms, Battlefield 3, Wipeout, Time Crisis to name a few

3. I am being serious

4. I'm not slagging off fantasy games, Final Fantasy is epic.

5. I know a lot of you think I'm trolling, but I honestly, don't mean to, I'm genuinely trying to find other people who dislike Skyrim, instead I appear to have run straight into the gates of Mordor....literally

I want what he's smoking.

People have there own personal tastes just like music. You may not like it but that is not going to stop someone else from playing it if they like it.

Personally this is the first game this year that has really gripped me, I've already played 18 hours in 2 days, that is a lot for me it usually takes me 1-2 weeks to finish a 20 hour game. :)

If you're genuinely trying to poll opinions from people who did not like Skyrim and why they did not like Skyrim then to be honest, you're doing it wrong. For a start the thread title is a bit of a flame, perhaps a simple "Skyrim - Why don't you like it?" would have been better.

If you enjoy Final Fantasy games then surely you understand that Skyrim isn't an MMORPG without the MMO but rather it is just a "standard" RPG, unless of course you've only played the MMORPGs of Final Fantasy. I haven't played Skyrim but I imagine it has a lot in common in terms of standard fare RPG components with Final Fantasy. The difference just from reading what people say, appears to be that Skyrim gives you much more freedom in terms of what you do and how you want to do it.

Hardly, I was actually looking for all the people who dislike Skyrim to comment on why they don't like it, but instead a whole boat load of Skyrim lovers (I was going to say Skyrim-jobbers) turned up and said I'm stupid because I don't like a game where you pretend to be an elf or and orc or whatever slaying dragons and completing quests to get more gold or a new peice of shiney armour etc..

But you'll happily pretend to be a soldier shooting other people pretending to be soldiers, to unlock shiny service stars and medals which in turn give you pretty new pretend guns to use on your pretend soldier to shoot other people pretending to be soldiers, instead of actually joining the army?

Okay.

End of thread really, just those 3 posts says it all. Right of to watch x-factor with the missus ;)

I also only read the first couple of pages. From what I've gathered, you don't like games in the style of Skyrim, and are looking for people to agree with you, but you feel like you should like Skyrim because everyone else seems to, and want convincing of it's merits, and when people list said merits multiple times they are greeted with 'but I don't see the appeal of slaying dragons and wandering around a big open world'?

You've had the appeal of the game explained to you. You're still saying it's not your thing, and commending people for agreeing with you that the game isn't very good. Forgive me for being so blunt, but 10 minutes watching some gameplay will tell you what people find appealing about the game, so you're not looking to be convinced of it's merits, but to reinforce your own opinion that the game isn't very good. You may like football games. I don't, but I'm not going to ask other people to agree with me, and then shoot down every comment someone makes about the appeal of said game.

The WoW argument is laughable. What's the point in getting better armour if you can't show it off to people? Seriously? You can't just go and get some better armour because you like it? I couldn't give a damn what someone else thinks of my armour in a game.

I love FF, but have never seen it as a proper RPG since you don't have any choices to make, while stuff like DA:O/ME is linear compared to games like Fallout and TES, it at least has choices, and you can choose what to do/say

Man, 40s, hates Skyrim, desperately seeks partner, must also dislike the game, no past experience of Elder Scrolls needed.

Played or not not played has nothing to do with it, I was merely trying to find people who shared my opinion, obviously I somehow attracted the polar opposite, so maybe I need to turn the magnet around and try again lol
