I'm back baby!
See here.

Seems there's a bit of an epidemic at the moment. Not a medical thread, taking the young un to the Doc's when school has finished.

I'm ****ed at school for not telling anyone until his symptoms had developed, especially seeing as our lass is pregnant and it increases the risk of miscarriage due to anaemia.

I'll be exploding at school if something goes wrong.

I'm struggling with your post because I don't know your family situation well.

Your son was at school and developed this virus, but the school did nothing about it until too late... and you're worried about your daughter who is pregnant... right?

Think our lass might be his misses?

Sorry, I didn't make it clear.

Kids were sent home with the virus last week. 'Our lass' = 'my girlfriend' in this instance. So my unborn child may well be affected by the virus my child has picked up from school that school knew about last week and didn't think to mention to anyone.

Eee baah gum.

Don't explode at school. People get locked up for that sort of thing.

EDIT: Ahh, that makes sense now. Is the school obligated to inform parents of this sort of thing? I know it would be prudent to do so but is there any requirement?

I'm sorry I still can't grasp it. Your kids were sent home, or some kids at the school were sent home? And the school didn't say to anyone "We sent some kids home with suspected viral infections?" Is that it?

Did they send all the kids home - or just your wee boy?

His girlfriend/wife is pregnant. The virus the kids have could affect his unborn child, but the school didn't inform him of this.

Did the school definitely know it was Slapped Cheek or did they just know some kids were sick?

By the sounds of it it isn't the easiest disease to diagnose immediately (cold-like symptoms etc) so I can see why they might not have said anything.
