it only leaves logs on your machine, it doesn't make changes on the bank logs.

and either way, that was the only action i did every day... and after which i would change my IP and password... so even if i forgot to delete the logs... or if the banks did start logging all transfers then my IP would have changed anyway :confused:

Did you/had you run AV scanns on your Computer? to see if you were infeted?

Wouldn't make a difference. You can have viruses on your machine that are dormant - if he changes his IP, the owner of the virus loses it.

no but i had a high enough seek 'n' peek to see that only 1 virus was on my machine and that was only a vspam virus that got put onto my account on my 2nd day of playing.

as soon as you change your IP address the owner of the virus has no control over it and you stop being one of their slaves, the virus will just lay dormant on the machine then until deleted.

you'll notice yourself, check your slaves list every now and then and one or two of them will say "127.0.0.1 is no longer on your slaves list" (where 127.0.0.1 is the IP you've hacked)... this is because they've changed the IP or your virus has been deleted.

as i said... there really is no explanation as to how i lost that money :-/

i could probably see myself coming back to the game in a few months when some new features have been put in... but until the exploits and bots have been killed - then its not really worth playing, even in a (semi) big group of players like team ocuk had going :(

This new thing to prevent bots is getting on my **** tbh.

I was using all the NPC servers whilst this bot was scanning IP's and I didn't get touched. I'd rather have it like it was before. Downloading files and leaving your IP logged for those 5-10 seconds longer has been a lot more troublesome for me.
 
this is crap, im finding it so hard to get a firewall i keep getting hacked and stuff deleted so i start the process again. someone left their details in my log gonna try hack them in a sec.

im on mirc atm if anyone fancies coming on and helping me?

edit: omg hacked again by a noob as well grrr need a firewall bad

ty for that, luckily no one has attacked me again this morning, so ive got most stuff back, currently download a 0.7 waterwall and this place also has a 0.5 firewall i believe so i can atleast fend of some attacks. someone else attacked me about 2am but he left his ip in my log so i was nice and hacked him back, installed a spam virus and deleted all his stuff.

edit: it was taking ages, il give it to you when im not got some hacking to do or when ive got faster net.

I have given this a go and all that seems to happen is I hack a few people, delete their software, and then someone does it to me! Still kinda fun tho'. How do you stop people deleting your files?

Anyway I got Syrnia.rip. Anyone know what it is, or how you use it?
 
well having a firewall keeps some people out which is good. join us on irc then you can people to send you stuff etc and if u notice someone is hacking u, someone can go hack them back to stop them hacking you.

Has anyone got any tips to get some money?

I have finally broke free of people endlessly hacking me, and got some reasonable starter software, but I need to start getting some cash.

Make sure you clear the logs on the target system so that they don't get your IP address. Also, stay clear of 1.1.1.1/banks as much as possible as people camp the logs to harvest newbie IP's and reset your IP if you couldn't clear their logs due to whatever reason.

Having a firewall rated 1.0 or higher also helps as it will protect you from most new players as they normally have to go through the riddles (located in .txt files, the first in 1.1.1.1) to get the better software, most don't seem to want to do that.

Got my 10gb drive, 2800mhz cpu and am saving for the 24mbit connection now.
