Sled

we used some corrugated steel from the roof of a factory.

4 of us in a row then just pulled the edges up so we were sitting in a big half tube then went down :D

How does that work? You wouldn't be able to pull the edge up length ways, but surely it wouldn't slide if the corrugated bits are perpendicular to the snow. :D

BUSTED! err...

ermm yes you can pull them up lengthways they bend very easily that way, you can't bend them against the grain but can easy with it

You fail at physics!

Dashed edges pulled up to make U shape touch to slide down in.

Alright you win;) I do get basic physics! I thought you were wanting to pull the front up so it doesn't dig in. Which would be tricky.

In the bid to save webspace and bandwidth, im going to post in someones thread my own question. If it does snow, i want a readymade home made snowboard to hop onto... Any ideas on the best, easiest and cheapest way??

Cheap snowboard on ebay?
There isnt really any easy way to make a snowboard.

I used to use an old ironing board or a skateboard deck with an old pair of shoes bolted on but it's a bit pointless doing this really because you cant turn it or stop so you may as well just use your normal sledge but stand up on it.

all lean back and pull up seemed to just about work :p

although 4-5 people + the weight of that much steel = quick even if it is scooping up snow :p

A big inner tube would work better than a board.

You know them barriers that you see on road signs with the cones? the long red and white beam things? You bloody fly down hills on them :D. I used to use a wheely bin lid when I was younger
