Sleep...

That didn't work last night so it probably wouldn't work tonight!

At least the noise seems to have stopped, just need to stop thinking now and I may get 5 hours sleep...

ear plugs! You still hear loud noises but it filters out all the crap like talking, people moving about etc

Pray tell how I hear my alarm in the morning?:p

You find that if use the type connected by a thin plastic cord that during the night they will come out and the alarm bell will be heard in all its glory. In fact this will happen with non corded earplugs as long as you dont fully insert them.

In fact if you want some to try let me know and I'll post you some :)

As someone who has really struggled with sleep, I can definitely relate to what some people are suggesting in this thread. Don't force yourself to sleep - it doesn't work.

People say crap like, "don't watch tv/listen to music/listen to audiobooks etc etc etc", but in the end, if it helps you sleep or if you nod off doing it - then do it.

I think too much. About insignificant things. Been a problem since I was a teenager.

Sleep is a bizarre thing sometimes.

I'm similar, overanalyse everything and it means when I'm not doing something to occupy myself it comes to the forefront. Could be good, like thinking about a new "invention" or going on holiday or it could be bad like thinking about what you want to say to someone or how to do something you don't want to do, or every possible outcome of a situation...:/

have a fap

There's only so many times you can fap in a night before your arm gets tired... :p

You could do a me and not go to bed until 4 ish and then wake up about 9. But I'm guessing you have a job, a life or both. :p

In an ideal world I would go to bed at 4am and get up at around noon/1pm. For some reason I can keep up that routine for ages and not have that much of an issue falling asleep, soon as I try the more standard routine of 11/12-8/9 I just can't do it, even after a month or two of adhering to it.:p

As for earplugs and alarms, my alarm is quieter than the bloke talking normally so it almost certainly won't help. :)

I'm not a good sleeper though I do get some good sleep occaisionally, it depends how much activity is going on in my brain, so I try and wind down for 30mins or so before bed.

I find it difficult to get to sleep, but once I'm out I pretty much always sleep well.

I can be falling asleep on the sofa in the living room, but as soon as I go to bed it seems my mind suddenly becomes more active and I'll lie awake in bed for an hour or so.
I'll comfortably sleep soundly until morning when I finally do nod off though.

Sleep in the recovery position on your right hand side but place your right hand under your head. It should work and keep your left hand on the bed or wherever.

I have trouble sleeping on Sunday nights, as I know I've got a whole 5 days of work ahead of me. :( I end up sleeping for a couple of hours sometimes when I come home from work.
