Sleeping at work

Such a weird thread...........

We have a bed in the back of our server room, just been trying to get to sleep but its way too hot!

Nightshift is good for a few hours :)

Never have, probably never will.

That said, I've not got the opportunity unless I hide in the board room :p

I used to work at Bulmers doing 12 hour night shifts. I always used to get a few hours kip in the plastic wrapping disposal box. That was until my mate in a forklift picked me up and tried to empty me. Me and him had a bit of a fright!

I used to be able to fall asleep next the boss in my last job and still get paid for it. :D

But then we were all crammed in a builders van coming back from London. ;)

Not had a worktime kip in six years in this job. :(

One of the lads at my engineering firm sleeps in the spray shop oven. Clock in a 6am and starts at 7. Sticks its on 30c and leaves the door open abit.

One day he'll cook himself im sure.

I used to sleep in an old job.

Was a little room where silk screens were put into a light process and it took like 10-20 mins for screens to dry under a warm heater. Used to curl up next to it as the screens were drying and nap. :D

i knew a guy called tomo who did this at a printers i worked at.
you didnt work for the co-op at the time did you? lol

I once dozed off at work, my boss got up, locked the office door and left me to it. I had been wrongly called the previous night for a callout, so he had some sympathy for me.
Has never happened since.

There was a guy I once worked with who would sometimes disappear for 30 minutes or more and he eventually came clean about what he was doing.

Our Office had one toilet which was also designated disabled, as it was a bit bigger and it's own private room. He would go in there, take the hand towel from the sink, lay it down on the floor and have a sleep for a bit.

He was such an odd character.

did you say something?

Last job I kipped on the floor of the disabled toilet (mighty roomy in there)... and it was never used.

Used to work as a site labourer, was working with another labourer coring some holes through an outside wall. We had a tarpaulin set up to keep the weather out. One of us would keep working while the other slept. There's something peaceful about sleeping with ear defenders on! It took us three days to core the holes, only because we hadn't spotted the bit was blunt and we were trying to core through re-bar...

I once fell asleep in a meeting but that was more due to the consumption of alcohol at lunchtime than tiredness.

This is exactly why I never-ever drink alcohol at lunch-times on a working day.

My body either needs zero beer or 6/7 pints worth for the equilibrium to remain lucid. Anything in between and I'm either tired, develop headaches or just feel plain off.

When i first started working off shore as a mudlogger iI used to sleep loads. Once got woken up by the most senior person on the Rig and he asked me if i was having a nice dream. 12h shifts were i would be doing nothing for days... Got so boring. 2 of us in the "office" taking it it in turns to sleep lol.

I once fell asleep stood up at work (shelf stacking) while hungover. Woke up ~30 seconds later in a small puddle of blood surrounded by customers.

Got the rest of the day off paid for an "accident" at work. Was one of my best shifts ever.
