Sleeping Dogs performance

Mine is the 6+8 pin on the 7970 PCB @ 950MHz core.

I was hoping i had a good clocker but seems like it was the usual Lottery.

ASIC = 87.1
Default Voltage = 1.056

Ah i see.

Mine came with a 1010 stock clock.

When i ordered it from ocuk it was listed as this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-144-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938

So i was expecting stock card with a stock cooler.

However they actually sent me this gpu http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-155-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938

That's a reference, but slightly revised. There's actually a 2nd reference pcb that AIB's can use and that one is typically used with different caps. That MSI pictured is the same as the Powercolor. The problem with this pcb is that there is a capacitor that sits higher than the true reference pcb, so it caused clearance issues with early EK waterblocks. EK has since adjusted their blocks to compensate for the issue so it's moot now. Other than that, they're basically the same as there's no real discernible difference performance wise.

Although you can't reach 1200 core, you still have a decent if not unspectacular clocker. I can go up to about 1250 stable, can bench higher but i dont think its long term stable.

Temps and fan noise become an issue at that stage.

1200 is my 24/7 though.

I never touched a ref board.. always stick to custom cooling.

Had an XFX 4850 custom blower fan card once but that was a cool card.

Anyway i think we went right off-topic so i better shut up or talk about the Dogs :D

First thing i'll do when i get SD will be to whack it up to the max and see how it goes from there :)

Got this game today - will let you know how two meaty 680's in SLI compare.

Probably not that favourably to 7970's but still good to have a comparison!

Single 680 run:

Haven't downloaded the Hi-res pack yet but I doubt it will affect the FPS that much.

^^ almost identical to the stock 7970 lightning run, although he had high Res textures.

Would be interesting to see the performance hit if you can do a run with the high Res texture pack, and also if it increases vram usage considerably.

Will do when my poxy internet fetches it :D.

Not surprising the 7970's are faster in this game but an overclocked 680 does give OK performance at least on max settings.

I didn't know if you're 680 run was stock or overclocked, I'm guessing its an over clocked run. Why are you not surprised the 7970's are faster? Because its an AMD gaming evolved game? I mean not including the 'intentionally gimped for nvidia AA'

Max OC mate.

Not surprising because Extreme AA is compute heavy of which the Kepler cards are lacking.

Rusty can you confirm this please m8.
When playing this game my 2nd gpu stays idle???
Im using nvidia drivers 301.42.
And im play on the dell at 2560x1440
Do both of your cards work???

I would guess you need drivers newer than 301.42 to get the sleeping dogs SLI profiles, as the game is a lot newer than your drivers.Try the latest WHQL's.

That is the lastest WHQL's drivers.
The beta ones are 306.02. The new whql drivers are out soon.
Can anyone confirm playing sli on the 301.42 drivers???

Use the beta's. Will check for you in a bit.

VRAM usage was around 1000-1100 so not an issue in this game.

Updated run with Hi-Res Textures:
