Sleeping Dogs

Had a 3GB download earlier. Anyone know what it was for?

EDIT:

he Sleeping Dogs 1.7 update will be going live on Steam today. This update closely mirrors that of the recent console update and adds support for the Nightmare in North Point DLC in addition to several bug fixes and a few new features.

Feature Updates

* Aim-assist Option - A new option exists in the Game & Controls menu to enable/disable the auto-aim feature that assists the player in locking onto enemies while using guns.

* .40Cal Gun Unlock - Upon completing the main story missions and returning to any safehouse, the Golden .40Cal pistol will be available.

* Increased Daytime - Daytime should now last noticeably longer, but night time duration should remain the same (increasingly the real-time duration of the in-game 24hr cycle).

* Disable GPS Arrows Option - A new option exists in the Game & Controls menu to disable the in-world GPS arrows that indicate where to turn when navigating to a destination.

* In-game DLC Store Access - Wherever the user can see the infoticker while in-game (wardrobe, clothing & vehicle stores, garage, pause menu) there will be a button callout to open the Steam DLC store in-game.

* New Super-SWAT Outfit and Supercharged Police Cruiser unlocks – For owners of the Police Protection Pack, the Super-SWAT outfit and the supercharged police cruiser vehicle will become available. Owners of the Dragon Master Pack will receive this as well.

From that I'm guessing that it's pre loading extra stuff for that.
Kind of sucks if you don't intending getting the DLC though, wanted a quick game before beg and now faced with an hour wait for this to download...

Just started playing it. About 10mins into it so far and it isn't bad. This and the main Sleeping Dogs game are separate entries on the main game menu though so you can't load your last save. Also your collection of mooves don't carry over :/

I really enjoyed this game in the end, took me almost 22 hours to complete. I did not collect everything though, just had most of the moves unlocked, most of the decent cars, shrines, lockboxes etc.

Shame it ended :(

Just beaten this, thoughts below:

+Decent storyline and setting
+Performs pretty well 75fps+
+Melee combat generally works well although it suffers from the AC affliction of Counter being a bit overpowered
+Decent game length at ~18hrs
+Graphically just about OK for this type of game
+Some good characters
+Strong dialogue

-Horrendous texture popup (especially when on a boat)
-Gunplay feels a bit clunky, kinda like a console game or something from 10 years back
-Game world feels a bit small for this type of game
-A few bugs where I got stuck e.g. stuck in walk mode when you need to climb up some boat during a mission, drug bust where NOBODY is there at all and NO WAY to exit the camera or even access the game menu!! I left it for about 8mins to see if it timed out, in the end I had to kill the process in task manager
-Didn't feel like I had enough choice over my destiny e.g. I was kinda expecting some choice late in the game between Triad and Cops
-Guns are a bit annoying in terms of being able to get much use out of them i.e. low max ammo on automatic weapons and inability to hold on to them for long e.g. if you go back to your home to do a drug bust, he just chucks it on the floor, you finish the drug bust and the gun has miraculously vanished. This is really annoying as there are a couple of missions where you really need a gun to start with
-Texture quality seems really low res in places (with High Res Textures DLC installed)
-Random mission failures for 'leaving the area', sometimes you don't even get any indication/warning e.g. the poker game I won a round and thought I had to exit to continue the mission but no that meant insta-fail, gg :/
-Racing is fairly poor, again it feels like something from a 10 year old game like GTA3

Overall it reminds me a lot of Wheelman, although I'd say it is probably a better game.

Ye the racing did suck a bit but the game is pretty awesome.

Pretty much the only problem I had with the game. Would have been nice if there was a system similar to Splinter Cell Double Agent...the chance to guide Wei Shen down one of two paths would have made this game exceptional imo.....even something small would have made a difference, something like after doing missions for the Triads you get the option to report things to the cops or not, and that affects future missions and choices.

The game did really feel pretty much like a teaser though tbh...many different gameplay elements, none of them quite as good as they should be to test the water for a future franchise.

Just finished the story.

Was quite enjoyable all in all. The combat system was pretty cool, could do with some more mixed moves but that may come in future incarnations.

Didn't it all get a bit dark & nasty towards the end!

Hey guys, pretty much completed the game now and really enjoyed it. However I have one issue, I have found all the security cameras and beaten up all the thugs yet I don't have all the cameras in the surveillance system. Any ideas?
