Sleeping Dogs

Only gripe i have on this game is the Counter is far not reactive enough, and if you press it and theirs nothing to counter theres a second delay before you carry on kicking ass.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah it's intentional to stop button spamming. You have to time counters rather than just pressing it repeatedly.

thinking of getting this game, looks a lot like a gta series which is 1 of my favs, there a lot of open world and many different types of vehicles?

the worlds not as big as GTA's but its still quite big probaly around the same size as i remember mafia2 beeing.

theres a decent variety to the vehicles although near the start you see pretty much the same few cars constantly and they all sound the same to me.

the more affluent areas have the good cars and they do sound different for the most part , some have turbos , some have superchargers sounds etc

theres also a bunch of cars you can buy that dont apear to be ones ive seen on the road before

So is this game similar in terms of gameplay to GTA? I seen this for the first time on Steam on friday and after looking at some screens and also the trailers I think I want it.

its pretty much GTA set in hongkong but with better combat and for most peoples its taking around 17hours to complete with still a few side quests left

im not sure how much the game is now but it could be had for 20quid before its release which is a steal its easily as good as AAA titles and doesnt feel like a budget game at all so that price was utter madness

maybe it was cheap because it came out of nowhere and didnt seem to have a silly expensive marketing campaign, the general opinion on forums i read is that its an 8/10 or 9/10 game

No crashes or issues for me on win 7 64, 3770k oc'd and 7950 oc'd

I think the bugs and crashes are either gfx driver related (maybe nvidia?) or probs with your OS, fundamentally i dont think anything wrong with it

Cheers mate I think I will pick this up then :)

GOTY, for me, blows GTA out of the water.
Driving is a joy, crisp and responsive, and so is the gunplay etc.
Nice surprise:)

I hated the GTA an SAINTS ROW series couldn't stand them got bored to fast with them but this Sleeping dogs game is the first one ive enjoyed, GOTY for me also :D

I am loving it as well, and it is GOTY for me so far also(though I am pretty sure Dishonored will wipe the floor with it;)). It is certainly a lot better than SR3, which I thought was awful....not sure about GTA tbh. They are different, Rockstar's attention to detail can't really be beaten for this type of game. Combat is certainly better in SD, but for driving I would have to give it to GTAIV, easily. In terms of story/narrative there isn't much in it. SD certainly has better variety in gameplay imo. GTAIV is funnier, and characters have a bit more depth.

I might say it is a slightly better game than GTAIV, but there really isn't much in it. In fact, I don't think I could choose. San Andreas beats both though.
